Attractive Holiday Cottage with Pool in the Dordogne
The cottage is in a lovely quiet village of stone cottages above the Dordogne river. It has a private, fully enclosed, garden with a pool and terrace with river views. There is also a barn with additional accommodation. There are many beautiful towns and villages close by and the cottage is ideally placed for sightseeing and visiting all the leisure activities the region has to offer.
Holiday Accommodation at Les Glycines
The cottage has been tastefully renovated and comfortably accommodates six, although it is not thought to be suitable for children under 10 years of age. There is also a studio in the barn with double room and en-suite which is available at a supplement.
There is a small, fully enclosed garden, which has been well planted. Facing the cottage is a barn and between these is a high stone wall, which forms one side of the garden. Just off the garden is the pool area with a pretty terrace having views down the Dordogne river and valley.

The front door leads directly into the:
- Dining room which has an archway through to the
- Fully fitted Kitchen - cooker with electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. (In the barn is a washing machine).
- Sitting room with traditional fireplace and woodburner, television with English satellite and DVD player.
- Shower room with WC

- Two double bedrooms (king-size) with fans
- Twin bedroom with fan
- Bathroom with WC
- Separate shower room
- Upstairs in the barn is a studio with double bed and en-suite. (This is available at a supplement.)
About Cales in Dordogne, Aquitaine
The cottage is in a quiet village of stone cottages, which sits on a hill above the Dordogne river. There is a school, the Mairie, a restaurant and a pretty stone church which overlooks the river.
The busy bastide town of Lalinde is 7 kms downstream and here one can find all services, including shops, restuarants, cafes, a supermarket and a weekly market which is very popular with the locals and visitors.
All the local towns have their market day, so a market can be found any day of the week. There are also numerous restaurants in the pretty local villages, and some quite hidden away.
The Atlantic coast is 168 kms to the West. Bordeaux is the nearest big city, an hour and a half by car or train to the West. Perigueux is 45 mins North and Bergerac with its many vineyards is half an hour West.

How To Get To Cales in Dordogne, South West France
There are good road links to the South West of France from all the channel ports and from Santander in Spain.
From the Calais/Boulogne area the best route is via Paris and Brive and from the other channel ports via the Western autoroutes towards Bordeaux. The cottage is midway between Bordeaux and Brive, 7 kms East of Lalinde on the Southern bank of the Dordogne.
From Santander there is a direct route to Bergerac and the cottage is half an hour East of there.
The French rail service is good and TGV services run from Paris to Libourne and Bordeaux from where there are links to Lalinde, which is 7 kms from the cottage.
Bergerac has an airport with Flybe and Ryanair links to many UK locations and there are car rental outlets at the airport, making fly/drive holidays popular.

- A security deposit of £250 (250€) is payable. This is held against loss, damage or excessive cleaning bills and will be refunded within 14 days of departure date, assuming no problems.
- A deposit of £300 (300€) is required to secure a reservation.
- A pre-arrival shopping service is available. Only the goods will be charged, the service is free.
