Charming 18th century village house with pool in the Luberon Regional Natural Park, Provence. The village, Mérindol, overlooks the Durance River Valley, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with olive groves, vineyards and picturesque Provençal villages.

• The master bedroom (25 sq.m.), on the second floor, has a double bed, private bathroom with toilet and a large wardrobe. There is a good view from the window, over the rooftops of the village and the Durance Valley.
• A second bedroom (13 sq.m.), on the same floor with twin beds, a shower room and wardrobe.
• The third bedroom (16 sq.m.) is at the level of the courtyard and pool. It is has twin beds, an adjoining shower room with toilet, a wardrobe and cupboards.
• The living room (21 sq.m.) on the first floor is a stone vaulted room with old floor tiles and an imposing fireplace. There are two armnchairs, two couches, TV, DVD player and radio/CD. 
• The dining room, with wooden beamed roof, is on the same floor.

Outside

The main entrance to the house (rue du Moulin à Huile) opens on to a paved courtyard with swimming pool (7m x 3m), covered patio and barbecue. The summer kitchen is just behind the patio. Please note that the pool, patio and courtyard form a single area - the pool is fitted with an alarm, but the courtyard is not suitable for young children to play in unsupervised.

About the location

The village of Mérindol is on the south slope of the Luberon hills, an area protected as a Regional Natural Park, with excellent walking and cycling trails. The village overlooks the Durance river valley, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with olive groves, vineyards and charming Provençal villages such as Lourmarin, Cucuron, Gordes, Roussillon, Ménerbes and Bonnieux.

Mérindol is quiet but there are bakers, butchers and grocery shops, a paper shop with English and other foreign newspapers and several restaurants. There are tennis courts in the village, possibilities for renting bicycles and horse riding. There are several golf courses in the area. There are markets every day in local villages.

Avignon, Aix-en-Provence, Saint Rémy and Les Baux de Provence are all within 25 miles (40 km).

How to get here

Mérindol is 50 km from Marseille airport and 100 km from Nîmes airport. Easyjet and British Airways fly to Marseille from Gatwick and Ryanair flies to Nîmes from East Midlands, Liverpool and Luton. There are TGV stations close by - Avignon (50 km) and Aix-Les Milles (60 km).

Car rental is available at all of these airports and stations. If arriving by car, the house is 10 km from an exit of the A7 autoroute.
