A stunning converted farmhouse in a beautiful, rural location, situated less than 1 km from the small village of Labastide-Villefranche with a patisserie and general store. There are a few restaurants within the neighbourhood. A perfect location for exploring the beautiful countryside and coast of South West France.

La Maisounabe has huge reception areas and large shuttered bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms. There is a large enclosed garden with a swimming pool close to the house.

La Maisounabe has recently been renovated to amalgamate the house and barns which has created:

• A stunning galleried hall with oak floor and rotating wood burner.
• A large family kitchen with original rustic fireplace with wood burner
• A separate laundry room
• Large dining area for communal gatherings
• Ground floor bedroom with kitchenette and shower room with direct access to the swimming pool. Wheelchair accessible.

About the location

La Maisounabe is near the small villages of Labastide-Villefranche and Auterrive. The nearest tourist towns are Salies de Bearn and Sauveterre de Bearn. The house is in sight of fishing lakes and the river of Oloron is in walking distance for fishing and swimming. The coast, with long sandy beaches and the cafe culture of Biarritz is a 45 minute drive away.

The charming spa town of Salies de Bearn is 7 km away and provides a wide range of facilities which include a weekly local market, indoor swimming pool with spa waters, casino, golf course and picturesque restaurants. 

Historical Pau is reknowned for horse racing and motor rallies as well as having a large selection of shops and restaurants.

How to get here

The two nearest airports are Biarritz and Pau, both similar distances. We recommend hiring a car or bringing your own car for ease of travel. The property is located close to the D28 between Escos and Sauveterre, south of the A64.
