Holiday Cottage in the Pas de Calais region of France
A comfortable sympathetically converted barn, standing in an enclosed courtyard and an enclosed garden, which makes it ideal for small children. It is on the edge of a small village in the region of Pas de Calais, Northern France. Not a long distance to travel from the channel and also within easy reach of Paris and other major cities. It borders on the historic area of the Somme which is ideal for those wishing to explore the battle grounds etc. Many families have used it as a base to visit Euro Disney and then return to the Gite to relax before their return journey to the UK.
It is within 45 minutes to the beaches at Le Touquet and Berck Plage, both wonderful sandy beaches.
It has many facilities to suit most families, there is a single downstairs bedroom with an en-suite shower room, which may be beneficial to families wishing to bring a grandparent or nanny. It is also ideal for a couple to take a holiday with 3 or 4 friends together. Well furnished and well equipped with many facilites required for a pleasant stay.
Holiday Accommodation at Sympathetically Converted Barn in Northern France
On the ground floor is the large sitting room, separate kitchen, dining room and single bedroom with en-suite shower. On the first floor is a large double bedroom with Kingsize bed and one mezzanine bedroom which has 2 queen size beds and a child's cabin bed, and family bathroom with an original sit bath. A cot with bedding is also supplied.
The stairs to the first floor are open tread and have stair gates at each end.
The garden leading from the kitchen is enclosed and has a sunny patio area and barbeque, ideal for dining alfresco. It also has a grassed area with 2 large hazelnut trees for summer shade.
The Gite with its wood burning stoves in the sitting room and dining room make it a comfortable place to spend out of season breaks. For cosier winter usages all beds are furnished with electrical under blankets.
About Cavron St Martin in Pas-de-Calais, Nord Pas de Calais
The village of Cavron St Martin borders on the ancient forest of Hesdin and is not far from the town of Hesdin itself , which holds a weekly market on Thursday mornings and has a beautiful cobbled square, where you can sit and have a coffee in many of its cafes. Hesdin has many restuarants both in and just off the main square. It also has a tourist office in the old town hall, which overlooks the square.
Cavron St Martin is a very much a working village and is very pleasant to walk around at differing times of the year and observe the local people doing their work in the fields and gardens with each season. It has many circular walks, some quite short strolls and others which are for more active walkers, there is an ordinance survey map at the Gite to guide you.
There is a local restaurant La Planquette, a bar and further along the main road an Estaminet (pub/beer garden) called the Chés 2 Agaches (2 magpies). Here there is a selection of old wooden board games and others made by the owner. Children are welcome and this is a very pleasant place to spend a summer’s afternoon. Rue de la Pisciculture means the road of the fish farm and there is a trout farm further along this road, they supply local restaurants and sell to the public, so if you fancy fresh fish, you could not get fresher.

| Other | The Gite has wood burning stoves in both the living room and dining room which make it a comfortable place to spend out of season breaks. It is a very well equipped Gite and comfortable which encourages returners. Comments from previous guests can be viewed on our own website All bed linen is provided and towels per number of people booked. We also leave a small welcome pack for guests, which includes tea, coffe and milk for that longed for cuppa when you arrive. Also provided is a small general selection of spices and cooking flavourings etc. for guests to use during their stay. The gite comes with a comprehensive guide book to its facilities which includes local emergency amenities etc. There is a wide selection of information on places to visit and on childrens activities in the area at the Gite. |

Additional price information
A reservation/security deposit of £100 is required at the time of booking. This will be cashed, and subsequently returned to you by electronic transfer after your holiday, providing that there are no losses, breakages or damage to the property or its contents.
Full rental charges will be required 6 weeks prior to occupancy by sterling cheque or electronic transfer.
With the exception of May, June, July and August, a fuel charge of 40€ per week is payable on arrival to cover the cost of wood.
If you require wood during the warmer months mentioned above then it is charged at 8€ per night.
Included in the rental is 200 units of electricity and any usage above this is paid for by the guests at the rate of 0.12€ per unit of electricity
