Self Catering Village House in the Languedoc

Bright Spacious three storey village house located on the edge the charming village of Laurens. Enjoy Peace and tranquility relaxing on the terrace, which overlooks both the village and the surrounding vineyards of the Faugeres wine producing appellation. Centrally located only 20 minutes from the mountains or the Mediterranean.

Holiday Accommodation at Laurens: La Belle Vue

The house has been carefully renovated throughout to a very high standard. Combination of old (exposed stone walls) and new (hardwood floors; roof terrace; new bathroom). New kitchen in 2008 with all modern conveniences and appliances. Accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor

• Open Plan living/kitchen with hardwood floors, sectional couch, table and 4 chairs.

First Floor

• Two bedrooms each with two single beds (which can be combined to form doubles)
• Bathroom with large shower (3’ x 4’) (90cm x 120cm)

Second Floor

• Open plan bedroom with pull out couch-bed. Access to:
• A large sunny rooftop terrace (35 sq metres)

Outside

Large private roof terrace overlooking a wooded valley with superb views. The house is just steps to the local boulangerie, café bar, butcher, pharmacy and small grocery store (petit marche).

About Laurens in Hérault, Languedoc Roussillon

The village is situated 60 minutes drive from Montpellier, 30 minutes from the Mediterranean coast and 20 minutes from the lively town of Béziers.

Laurens has all amenities including two bakeries, grocery, chemist, newsagent and several excellent wine outlets.

There is a superb restaurant and wine producer, Chateau de Grézan, just a 2km drive outside the village through rolling vineyards. There are also several Faugeres AOC wine producers within the village who offer tastings (‘degustation’) vineyard tours and bulk sales.

Choice of restaurants, pizzeria, bars and supermarket in Magalas, a 5 minute drive away, or Bedarieux, a 10 minute drive.

Beziers (20 min drive) for hypermarkets, wide variety of restaurants and bars, shopping, markets (don't miss the fabulous flower market on a Friday, said to be the best in the south of France). Europark (a large theme park open in summer) is just outside Beziers.

Pézenas (20 min drive) is a beautiful town with medieval architecture, artisan shops, winding streets, and a wonderful Saturday market.

Montpellier (60 min drive); A vibrant city with theatre; fantastic array of wonderful restaurants in the old city, great shopping, modern aquarium, concerts and summer festivals.

Olargues: 'One of the most beautiful villages in France' (30 min drive). A lovely drive with fantastic scenery. Organic market every 3rd Sunday.

St. Guilhem le Desert (50 min drive) is one of Languedoc’s top tourist spots with its charmingly restored cobbled streets and ancient abbey.

Cap d'Agde (45 min drive) for nightclubs, casino, harbour-side restaurants, beaches, water sports, boat trips, golf and Aqualand (a super waterpark with slides, rides and pools).

Further afield is the Pont du Gard. The coastal towns (Collioure is a ‘must see’) near the Spanish border are 1 to 1.5 hours away. Barcelona is a 3 hour drive from Laurens and Toulouse just under 2 hours.

Hiring a car is recommended in order to access all the area has to offer.

How To Get To Laurens in Hérault, South of France and the Riviera

Nearest airports: Beziers, Montpellier, Perpignan, Carcassonne and Toulouse all with regular flights from the UK and Ireland. For North American visitors we recommend flying to Paris (CDG) and connecting on to Montpellier with Air France.

Car hire is available at all airports and Laurens is easily accessed from the main route north from Beziers. (D909).
