A charming 18th C Stone House in the Dordogne/Perigord

Charming and romantic gite accommodation in the “the South west France” in the Dordogne region. This 18th century stone house was restored 5 years ago and carefully furnished with comfortable furniture.

The gîte enjoys the daytime sun from its private terrace. With a delightful view over the gardens it’s the perfect spot to dream the day away!

The property comfortably accommodates 5 people and comprises:

  • A kitchen and living room: There is a fully equipped kitchen with a gaz cooktop (4), a fridge, microwave oven, a toaster, a bowler. The living room is equipped with a sofa bed, a dining table and four chairs. There is a satellite television, a DVD, CD, radio player, a wood burner and two armchairs.
  • Terrace: There is a table, 4 - 6 chairs, a barbecue; it offers a quiet place to sit relax or to eat while enjoying a cool beverage or a book.
  • A large bedroom (Double bed, Twin bed or Triple beds): a king size bedroom (can be transformed into two single beds) plus an extra single bed. A corner of this large bedroom is equipped with two armchairs and a small table and offers the opportunity to read, relax or have a drink. Access to a second covered terrace.
  • A mezzanine: 2 single beds or double bed.
  • The bathroom is equipped with a shower, a hand basin, a washing machine, a hair dryer, and toilets.
  • Outside: Barbecue, Deckchairs, table and chairs

About Vergt De Biron in Dordogne, Aquitaine

Our gîte is located in a medieval village, at the footstep of the castle of Biron, a castle opened to the public. It's just 5 kms from the Bastide town of Monpazier in the Dordogne Valley and 35 minutes drive from Bergerac airport.

The gîte provides the perfect place for people to unwind, relax and explore the beautiful countryside of South West France. An oasis of tranquillity and relaxation, the gîte offers a peaceful and harmonious base for those wishing to discover the many attractions of the area or indeed those just wishing to relax with a good book and a glass of wine – this is, after all, the finest wine producing region in the world!  Whatever your interests, medieval castles, pre-historic cave paintings, wines including the famous Monbazillac sweet white wine, gourmet food, walking, cycling, canoeing, horse riding, golf and much, much more; all are within easy reach of our property. Of course, you may not be able to tear yourself away from an afternoon relaxing by the terrace listening to the birds singing.

Monflanquin, Villereal and Monpazier are at few minutes’ drive from the gîte, the three of us are typical Bastide towns with its square, restaurants, boules “pitch” and small local shops. Their colourful weekly markets are not to be missed; here one can purchase fresh local produce including cheeses, pate and wine. The three of us have s a bike hire centre, great for exploring the miles of woodland tracks that surround the property. For the less energetic there are plenty of lovely forest walks.

Spring here starts early with fabulous warm days in March, April and early May, followed by long hot summers and glorious, colourful, autumn weather in September, October and November.

How To Get To Vergt De Biron in Dordogne, South West France

The property location is about 30 minutes drive from Bergerac Airport. Other possible airports include Bordeaux (2 hours) and Toulouse (2 hours).

The nearest TGV train stations are Bordeaux and Libourne, which are respectively 2 hours and 90 minutes drive from the property.

The closest train station is Bergerac 35 minutes driving from the property. It is at (910kms) 560 miles from Calais and it is possible to cover all but the last 25 miles from Perigueux by autoroute (motorway).

The main bedroom is 25 square meters furnished with some antic furniture and a wondeful view over the garden.

You have the possibility to have a queen size bed ( 180x200) or a twin beds (2 x 90 x 200 cm).Don't forget to tell us how the bed has to be prepared.

In this large bedroom, we can add a single bed ( 90 x 190) for a third person.

In the mezzanine which is located above the main room, we can accommodate 2 persons either with a twin bedded or a double bed.
