Holiday Cottage in Peaceful Location in Aveyron

Les Prunaques is a converted stone cottage situated in a peaceful location, 10 minutes from the picturesque village of Le Nayrac. The cottage is surrounded by farmland and has views to the mountains of the Aubrac. Set in its own pretty garden, it is a haven for birdlife of all species.

Holiday Accommodation at Les Prunaques

The owners of this pretty cottage have made it the perfect retreat for two, or for up to six people.

The cottage is extremely well furnished and suitable for holidays at all times of the year. The main sitting room features an inglenook fireplace and in the second sitting room there is another logburner (logs provided) and a craftsman-built oak staircase leading to the gallery bedroom. The pretty garden that surrounds the house has a west-facing terrace with garden table, chairs, parasol, sun loungers and barbecue.  A grassed area with mature trees offers shade from the sun.

About Le Nayrac in Aveyron, Midi Pyrenees

Set high on the hills above the Gorges du Lot, the views from the cottage and garden extend to the Aubrac Mountains and to the Massif Central beyond. 

Two miles from the house is the village of Le Nayrac with local shops, a post office and two very good restaurants, one with a swimming pool for use by customers. The local Golf Club de Mezeyrac is only twenty minutes by car and has a restaurant and bar open at lunchtime and in the evenings. The Lac du Selves with a variety of water sports facilities is only a five minutes drive by car with beaches where you can swim.

From Le Nayrac a picturesque drive of some fifteen minutes will take you to Estaing with its enchanting Chateau, two very good restaurants and many small shops.

The knife-making centre of France in the small town of Laguiole is well worth a visit and for visitors at the end of May, the spectacle of Transumance when the cattle of the region are moved to high pastures for the summer is an unforgettable experience.

How To Get To Le Nayrac in Aveyron, South West France

The cottage is located between Rodez and Aurillac off the D920 close to the village of Le Nayrac. Driving time from Calais is approximately 10 hours with stops and from Caen approximately 8 hours. Precise directions and details can be supplied on request.

By rail, trains run from Paris in the North or Toulouse in the South to Rodez or Aurillac where car hire is available.

By air, flights from Stansted to Rodez are daily during July & August and on varying days throughout the rest of the year. Car hire is available at the airport.
