'Maison du Pont' is a delightful house situated in the peaceful village of Guillon in the heart of the Burgundy countryside.

The property has a large enclosed courtyard and garden with private parking. There are views of the river 'Serein' meandering under the 16th century bridge making this a truly idyllic location.

River and wildlife, a walk around the village of Guillon is a treat whatever the weather.

Tourist attractions are within easy reach.

Holiday Accommodation at 'Maison du Pont'

This charming house benefits from having all the accommodation on one level and is well furnished throughout. 

• Living/Dining area: It has a large living / dining area with  wooden beamed ceiling, (plafond à la française) stone walls and a beautiful sculpted stone fireplace (pierre de Bourgogne) with wood burner for cosy evenings throughout the winter months. A large window making the most of the spectacular views out on to the river.
• Kitchen: A newly renovated fully equipped kitchen with double doors leading out on to a patio area and on into the large, lawned garden.
• Bedrooms: Three bedrooms, two with double beds and one with two single beds. Each one having ample storage space and tv.
• Bathroom: A newly renovated bathroom with sink and Italian shower. Seperate toilet.
• Outside: A large enclosed courtyard to the front of the property provides ample private parking space.

About Guillon in Yonne, Burgundy

'Maison du Pont' boasts a fabulous view of the river 'Serein' meandering it's way under the 16th century bridge in the peaceful village of 'Guillon'

It is surrounded by beautiful French countryside and is ideally situated for touring this splendid region of Burgundy.

At Guillon you will find a restaurant/bar, bakery, post office, hairdressers, doctors, vets and a Gendarmerie. The nearest supermarket is 4km away where you will also find a bar that does meals and at the weekends holds concerts for all tastes.

The village of Epoisses 7km, famous worldwide for it's cheese, it has a Chateau open to the public and during July / August an outside swimming pool.

7km in the other direction is the medieval village of Montréal.

The historical town of Avallon 18km with its weekly Saturday market.

The charming medieval town of Semur-en-Auxois 22km Each year on the 31st May the oldest Horse race in France is held here 'Foire de la Bague' Over the same weekend there is a gigantic market and firework display. Nearby Lac du Pont with a beach area and water sports during the summer season. You can walk around the lake (12km) picturesque whatever time of the year. 

Chablis is 35km and Beaune 90km. Both well worth visiting whether it's to try the fabulous wines or admire the landscape. The smaller wine village of Irancy 55km is beautiful in the Spring time with many cherry orchards.

The breathtaking medieval village of Vézelay is 35km and Abbey de Fontenay 35 km both protected world class sites 'UNESCO'

Drive 15km and you will find yourself in the 'Morvan Regional park' scenic throughout and giving you the chance to try many outdoor pursuits eg rafting, climbing, quad, hiking, paintball.........

Local markets, vide greniers (Guillon 8th May) are held in the surrounding villages throughout the summer months (March to October)

Avallon has a market every Saturday morning throughout the year.

Cardoland at Chamoux 35km. A park for the children with a dinosaur theme.

Local towns and villages have Christmas markets throughout December.

How To Get To Guillon in Yonne, Central France

Travelling by car gives you ultimate freedom whilst here. Calais - Paris following the motorway (A1), from Paris follow the motorway signs for Lyon taking the A6. You exit when 'Avallon' is indicated. Here you turn left 'Guillon' 9km (5 hours in total).

Alternatively travel via:-

Eurostar:- London to Lille

TGV:- Lille to Dijon getting off at Montbard

From Montbard, taxi hire is an option or if you prefer we can collect you from the station (extra charge). Ask at time of booking.
