If you're looking for a holiday where you can truly get up close and personal with nature to never be far from adorably typical French villages complete with their markets, restaurants and all that goes on there, you're in the right place.

Choosing to holiday at "Lafferranderie" means you can share our 16 acres of delightful rolling Gascon countryside, you've got a 12 meter, Romanesque sunken pool in the garden, you can take leisurely walks to the neighboring castles or be a bit more energetic, taking to the hills on horse-back - the choice is yours.

All accommodation is on ground floor level and comprises:

About the location

Surrounded by more than 16 acres of meadow, woodland and heath. Our nearest neighbors are Chateau and Chateau Perron Montus both well-known producers of the delightful Pacherenc and Madiran wines.

In our wood we are lucky enough to have badger, rabbit, foxes and wild pig and our small lake attracts coypu. Last year the small island in the lake was host to a nesting heron.

At nightfall, enjoy stargazing of incredible clarity and the spectacle of pipistrelle bats and owls swooping between our various outbuildings.

At all times of year, deer cross the land as if they owned it and come Particularly close to the house in the winter in search of food.

In all, a rural location but with easy access to local towns and villages.

Restaurants we recommend in the surrounding area:

Bassoues: An amazing venue - and well worth the drive. Outside dining in the shade of the mediaeval covered market hall with oodles of atmosphere. Super, traditional Gascon fare with seasonal and local produce from the market that day. The menu of the day is highly recommended. This varies but always consists of - soup, cold starter, choice of main course, desert (the fruit or ice cream / sorbet). Bread and wine are included in the price - 11 euro ... an absolute bargain!

Plaisance Coco Pizza Which is an excellent pizzeria, even open Sunday evenings, with a cheerful and laid back service. Also does a take-away option.

Also at Plaisance 'Ripa Alta'Where you can eat in the basic bar with the locals or in the more up market restaurant, Which is the ideal place for a special meal. Cozy and intimate, there is a choice of menus of traditional Gers cooking - with a twist.

Madiran: The Prioress, Which is set in a renovated, stone and river cobble faced priory, this restaurant has a lovely terrace overlooking the park for outdoor dining. Indoors, the dining room is elegant and spacious and offers a choice of menus with local Madiran wines prominently featured.

Auberge de la Colline, Once an old staging inn, this has wooden ceilings and a cozy atmosphere. The food is wholesome and generous - let out the belt a few notches if you choose to dine here. As always, a choice of menus.

There are many more restaurants we can recommend - having eaten our way round most of Gascony - and for lunch - pretty well anywhere! If it's full ... .. it's good. Just follow the locals!
