Situated in Chatain, a small hamlet surrounded by picturesque countryside in the heart of the Limousin, this family house retains much of its traditional style whilst offering the comfort of modern amenities.

With four double bedrooms, separate living and dining rooms with open fires, a well equipped kitchen and a garden with beautiful views over the valley, the property offers an ideal holiday home for families or friends.

Ground Floor

The dining room has a traditional open fire and dining table which comfortably seats eight people.

The large lounge comfortably accommodates both a seating area to relax in next to the open fire and a further dining area overlooking the garden. TV (English channels) and DVD player, Play-station 2 (including games), music centre, DVD's, CD's, books and games are provided for your entertainment.

A reasonable supply of logs is included in the rental.

The modern kitchen is well equipped with fridge/freezer, gas oven and hob, microwave oven and dishwasher.

There is also a toilet on the ground floor.

Upstairs

Upstairs are 4 light and spacious bedrooms with beautiful views over the countryside. There are 2 rooms with double beds and 2 with king size. The 4th bedroom is accessed via the 3rd. All bedrooms have traditional French wooden floors with chests of drawers and hanging rails.

The spacious bathroom, situated on the first floor, has a shower, toilet, sink and a washing machine.

Garden

Relax in the large grassed garden and enjoy the delightful woodland views across the valley. Garden furniture includes; wooden benches, table and chairs, parasol and recliners.

A gravelled driveway separates the house from the barn and provides ample space for up to four cars.

About the location

The house is situated in Chatain, a small hamlet surrounded by picturesque countryside in the heart of the Limousin.

Nearby (5kms) the traditional village of Royere de Vassiviere offers restaurants, bar, supermarket, baker, butcher, pharmacy and bank. Drive a further 2kms and you'll find yourself at the Lac de Vassiviere, the most popular destination for holiday makers visiting the area.

There are many pretty towns and villages nearby many with weekly markets including Bourganeuf(Wednesday), Felletin (Friday), Peyrat le Chateau, and Aubusson.

How to get here

By Road: The journey from the A20 to the property takes approximately 1 hour. Turn off the A20 at junction 35 onto the N141 travelling towards Bourganeuf. The D8 from Bourganeuf takes you down to Royere-de-Vassiviere. From here, the D3 takes you to Chatain.

By plane: Direct flights to Limoges from many regional airports including; Newcastle, Leeds/Bradford, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Stansted, Liverpool and Southampton.

By train: There are regular rail links form Paris to Limoges.

Distance from Calais: 450miles. Closest airport: Limoges 37miles (approx 1 hour 15 minutes drive).
