Beautiful Cottage in Picardy
Les Cerisiers is a traditional 18c Picardian/Normandy style farmhouse, comprising of a lounge, separate dining room, shower/toilet room, kitchen, and 2 large bedrooms. Situated approx. 6 km from the Normandy border in the beautiful, peaceful rolling countryside of the Somme.
It is in a convenient location to visit beaches, pretty coastal towns, Amiens, Abbeville, Paris, Rouen and many 1st and 2nd World War memorials and museums. Set in a small, quiet rural village in south west Picardy. It is the ideal place for touring or exploring the region, or for a peaceful and relaxing holiday.
Holiday Accommodation at Les Cerisiers
The cottage is a traditional columbage style farmhouse, which is approx. 250 years old, having been extensively renovated in recent years to include all the mod cons, while maintaining the old world feel, with the large wood burning fireplace and original beams.
All the rooms are beamed and the property comprises of:
- A cosy lounge with French windows opening onto the back garden. Also a large fireplace and enclosed wood burning fire, and television receiving British channels.
- An airy dining room with television receiving British channels.
- A renovated kitchen, complete with cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven and fridge freezer.
- A refurbished showerroom with shower, toilet and washbasin.
Tradional L -shaped oak staircase to the huge bedrooms:

- Bedroom 2 which has 2 single beds and a folding bed.

About Tronchoy in Somme, Picardie
The cottage is situated in a quiet village and is centrally located between the cities of Amiens, Abbeville, Rouen, Dieppe and within easy reach of Paris and the coast. Local restaurants in Poix-de-Picardie (12 kms drive). The coast is approximately 45 min drive. Normandy is only 10 kms.

How To Get To Tronchoy in Somme, North East France
Travelling times approximately by car:
- 1 hour 30 min from Calais
- 1 hour 15 min from Boulogne
- 2 hours from Paris
- 30-40 min from Abbeville and Amiens
- 45 min from the coast
A more convenient way to Paris is by train from Amiens or Beauvais, which is approx 1 hr 10 min.

Les Cerisiers is a truly first rate holiday home. Immaculately clean and oozing charm, we felt at home from the moment we let ourselves in. The cottage is extremely well equipped and comfortable and there were no nasty surprises - if anything the details on the website don't do it justice. The front and rear gardens are enclosed, making it ideal for families with young children, and the entertaining goat, donkey and chickens in the field next door add to the rustic charm of this historic gite. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area and we had a wonderful week exploring. A car is essential as the nearest shop is probably half an hour's walk away, and European sat-nav was invaluable.

My two friends and I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Les Cerisiers. It was good to be able to communicate directly with the owners Jeff and Sue, who gave us all the information we needed for our visit. It's an old cottage with lots of character but has a modern kitchen and shower room. In the mornings we kept up to date with the news from England via Sky TV, the enclosed back garden was great for eating lunch outside or reading on the sun loungers in the afternoon but in the evenings we watched DVD's in front of a lovely log fire. Amiens is the nearest city, less than half an hour away but we also visited Le Touquet on the coast, Rouen, Reims and Giverney as well as Arras and the First World War memorials.
I would advise other visitors to take a two pin continental adaptor plug if they're taking hairdryers, rechargers or a radio/CD player with them otherwise everything else we needed was available in the cottage.
