Comfortable Gîte within Extensive Chateau Grounds

“Be our guests inside the property of “le Château de la Gavolerie”. We will be pleased to welcome you for your stay in the gite, located in the grounds of our XVIIIth century manor-house. This independent house is located in grounds including a meadow and woodland of more than 70,000 square feet, which gives the property its name “La Gavolerie” meaning “the little valley full of quietness” - and you will see why.

It is such a lovely natural area with wonderful sights and places of interests to discover (castles on the other side of the valley, woods etc…. ) through this well-known natural landscape of the “Perche”. No wonder that monks lived there for more than one century before the “French Revolution”".

Let Isabelle and Stéphane, the landlords, welcome you and make your holiday an enjoyable and relaxing time.

Holiday Accommodation at Le Gîte du Château de la Gavolerie

The accommodation consists of :

  • A large open kitchen/dining room with a bay windows: a really clear and sunny area. It is opened towards the garden and is ideal to have lunch outside. It is then easy for barbecues (charcoal and wood provided).
  • 2 bedrooms, both with double bed, and one with an extra single bed (for one child).
  • A living room with sofa and TV.
  • Bathroom with shower and WC. Heated towel rail.

Outside

Storage shed attached for provisions, washer, barbecue, garden furniture, parasol and other equipment (children games, bicycles …).

About Besse Sur Braye in Sarthe, Pays de La Loire

The property of the Gavolerie is located in the countryside. This quiet place makes an ideal base for a restful holiday. Just take your time and have a walk through the huge grounds and discover the peace and tranquility the location has to offer.

However the "Gîte of the Gavolerie" is very close to the town of Bessé-sur-Braye where all you need is there : grocery store, butchers, bakery shop, supermarket, shoemaker, drugstore, doctors, dentist ... You also can do some shopping : clothing store, haberdashery and even an artist's gallery ! A modern and very nice swimming pool offers you a nice leisure time : indoors and outdoors and jaccuzi and Hamman spa; it is located a little more than 1.5km away from the gîte.

How To Get To Besse Sur Braye in Sarthe, North West France

Rail Travel : from Paris, 42 minutes to reach Vendôme-Villiers (TGV). Then taxi available or contact the landlord. The railway station is half an hour away from Bessé-sur-Braye.

Road : From Normandy, take the highway n° A 13 and A28. Around 1.5 hour drive from Rouen.

From Paris, take the highway n° A 11. "Sortie Ferté Bernard", then follow : St Calais then Bessé-sur-Braye. Around 2 hours drive from Paris.
