Comfortable, Newly Refurbished Accommodation on Tranquil Working Domaine

Le Puget is a haven of calm and tranquility over 1000 feet up into the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees. Newly refurbished this year, we offer generous and comfortable accommodation with gourmet dining on site. When you are sufficiently relaxed after lazing by the pool, you can walk or cycle for hours on the 55 acres of our working arable farm and the oak woods beyond.

There is a wide range of interesting things to do within an hour in every direction. Mirepoix is our local town, less than 15 minutes away; it has a lovely regular market in its exceptional early medieval square and a wide range of restaurants and shops.

Holiday Accommodation at The Old Auberge

The Old Auberge is a very generously converted old barn, well equipped for larger groups to live, eat and relax together.  The large private terrace is perfect for lazy summer dining. The layout of the Domaine means that its easy to find quiet, private corners for every one to do their own thing when they want to.   

The Old Auberge is approached from the stone courtyard you can see in the picture. Double doors open into:

• A vast living room (170 sq m) with comfy sofas and rugs before the wood fires, picture windows, and the library. Double doors also open out on the other side to the secluded terrace with big views across our own land up to the woods on the horizon.
• The terrace gets sun all day and long into the evening and is perfect for summer dining, although sometimes you might prefer
• The old stone dining room that glitters in evening candle light and is warmed by a large open fire.
• The kitchen is also huge, and more than capable of cooking up a storm for even the largest party.

The elm staircase leads to:

• 6 comfy and airy double or twin en suite bedrooms, all similar to the two examples shown here. They look out either into the courtyard or across the valley and fields. All bedrooms are simple but comfortable and generously sized. They all have low windows and ceilings that slope up to the high rafters and exposed timbers of the old barn, giving a light and airy feel.  

We can provide additional en suite bedrooms just across the courtyard if your party is larger than 12.

Le Domaine de Puget is set about 1000 feet up into the rolling foothills of the Pyrenees. Its a very tranquil rural area, but just 15 minutes from a motorway and 15 mins in each direction from towns with shops, restaurants and all facilities.

How To Get To Mirepoix in Aude, South of France and the Riviera

Le Domaine de Puget is easy to get to and easy to find. We are about 15 minutes from Castelnaudary, which has a train station and is on the A61 motorway.

Toulouse airport (eayjet, BA, and BMI from UK) and TGV station are both about an hour away, as are Bezier or Narbonne stations. Carcassonne airport (Ryanair) is about 30 minutes distant; Montpellier or Perpignan airports are less than two hours away.
