43, La Patache is an old and spacious house situated in the charming village of La Patache, historically known as a traditional fishing village, on the banks of the river Loire!

Amazing views of the Loire from the house and the stone balcony can be enjoyed whilst eating your meals, sampling the local food and wine, or simply relaxing!

Great place for a family holiday or a group of friends wishing to practise their French (very friendly neighbours), having a great time together walking, cycling, canoing, boating and combining it with the possibility of visiting Nantes, Les Chateaux de la Loire as well as the famous seaside resorts of La Baule, Le Croisic, Pornic which are only one hour away.

Excellent gastronomy and wines! Great choice of restaurants!

Holiday Accommodation at 43 La Patache

This property has been in the family for three generations and comprises:

  • It has retained many of its old and unique features such as wooden beams in the downstairs living area and an old wooden staircase leading to the 3 spacious bedrooms upstairs.
  • Two of the bedrooms enjoy amazing views of the river 'Loire' while the third bedroom looks out onto the pleasant and quiet courtyard at the rear of the house where you can relax, read, eat and sunbathe.
  • On the Loire side, there are also two stone balconies where you can spend many happy hours relaxing whilst having a pleasant meal or reading and enjoying the splendid view of the river.

About Champtoceaux in Maine-et-Loire, Pays de La Loire

La Patache is a reknown hamlet in the region for its unique situation on the bank of the Loire and for its history as a fishing village. 43, La Patache, is situated in the centre of the village and counts amidst one of the oldest properties with amazing views onto the river. The village is part of the commune of Champtoceaux, reknown for its exceptional panorama on the Loire and its gastronomy (fish in particular and its regional wine "Muscadet").

From La Patache you can walk up (15mins) or drive (5mins) to Champtoceaux where you will find all the facilities needed: boulangerie, small supermarket, cafes, newsagent, creperie, restaurants, hairdressers, a bank and an outdoor swimming pool situated in the gardens of the Champalud.

La Patache, Champtoceaux and the surrounding area offer a wide range of outdoor activities: Fishing, walking, cycling (can hire bicycles in Ancenis), mountain biking, horse riding (centre equestrian in Oudon) and many cultural activities: the ruins of the citadel, the medieval water mill, cruises on the Loire for bird watchers, a weekly cruise to the famous regional market in Ancenis.

La Patache, Champtoceaux is very well situated between two historical cities:

  • Nantes (30kms) and its chateau, museums, Jardin des Plantes
  • Angers (60kms) and the Chateaux de la Loire
  • The sea: La Baule, Pornichet, St-Brevin, Noirmoutier: wonderful seaside resorts with sandy beaches and typical harbours (one hour by car).

How To Get To Champtoceaux in Maine-et-Loire, North West France

  • If you cross the channel by boat, the quickest journey is from St-Malo. Follow the directions to Rennes, Nantes, Angers, Oudon where you cross the Loire in the direction of Champtoceaux.
  • You can fly to Nantes airport from London. Nantes is only 30 kms away from Champtoceaux (half and hour's drive).
  • Other airports would be: Rennes, Angers, La Rochelle.
  • You can also travel by using Eurostar from London - Lille - Nantes

An old, rustic and very spacious house featuring tiled floors and wooden beams in the downstairs living area. The kitchen/dining area is equipped with a dresser, a table and chairs for 6 people. The spacious lounge is equipped with a coffee table, a small sofa and two armchairs. There is also a very spacious entrance hall and old staircase leading to the three upstairs bedrooms: two of them have a wardrobe and the third has a chest of drawers. Beautiful views onto the Loire to be seen from two of the bedrooms and a view of the courtyard to be enjoyed from the third bedroom. All bedrooms are very spacious.

There is a boule pitch in the gardens of the Champalud but you can also play boules on the bank of the Loire in front of the village La Patache.

Also very safe for children to cycle in the village.
