Charming Stone Holiday Cottage in South Morbihan

A charming stone cottage with 2 bedrooms, located in peaceful countryside near Questembert and within easy reach of the Ocean. There is a garden and ample private off-road parking.

The property is newly renovated and has a high standard of furnishing and equipment.

Downstairs

  • The kitchen / dining area has exposed stone walls, a tiled floor and a large French Oak table with 4 chairs and a long bench in front of the wood-burning fireplace.
  • The sitting area has a stocked bookcase, a coffee table, a TV/DVD/CD. There are 2 leather bucket chairs and a sofa. 2 windows provide views down the lane to the wooded valley.
  • Small room with toilet and washing machine.

Please note that the traditional staircase is quite steep and narrow and so is unsuitable for young children and the infirm.

Upstairs

  • Double bedroom with wardrobe, drawers and bedside cabinets, velux windows with views over the valley.
  • Twin bedroom with drawers and bedside cabinets, floor-level window overlooking the garden.
  • Separate room with extra clothes-hanging facilities.
  • Shower room with shower, wash basin and toilet.

About Questembert in Morbihan, Brittany

The cottage is in the hamlet of St Jean, about 3km from Questembert, a market town with a good selection of small shops, supermarkets, restaurants and other amenities. The Monday market, in the wooden 'halles' dating from the 16th century and in the surrounding streets, is very popular and the restaurant at the Hotel de Bretagne has a Michelin star for those special occasions.

St Jean is in peaceful countryside and is within an easy drive of several sandy beaches and charming villages and towns, including Rochefort en Terre. The town of Vannes (and the Golfe de Morbihan with its fantastic sailing and pleasure trips to the islands) and the river port of La Roche Bernard are both about 25 minutes away. Near to Questembert railway station (trains to Vannes and Redon) is access to a traffic-free 'voie verte', which is perfect for cycling and walking.

How To Get To Questembert in Morbihan, North West France

St Jean is located just to the south of Questembert and is about an hour's drive from the airports at Nantes and Rennes.

The nearest mainline railway station is at Vannes (which has fast trains to Paris) but a car is essential for guests staying in this cottage.

The nearest port for ferries from England is St Malo, though the roads from Cherbourg and Caen also provide good and toll-free alternatives.

Additional price information

A non-refundable 25% deposit is required to secure a booking, with the balance payable 8 weeks in advance of the start date.

The balance payment should be accompanied by a security deposit of £100, which will be refunded after the holiday subject to a reasonable deduction for any damage.

Payment can be made by bank transfer, PayPal or by cheque.

Usual changeover is Saturday but it may be possible for us to accept bookings starting on other days. Please contact us for availability.
