About Plateau D Assy in Haute-Savoie, Rhone Alps

We are in a quiet residential area whilst being just off a road which is well-maintained and kept clear of snow in winter.

Local shops and restaurants are 2km away at Plateau d'Assy with three supermarkets at around 15 minutes drive.

The local resort of Plaine Joux is 15 minutes drive with all types of sports activities including skiing/snowshoeing in winter and hiking/climbing in summer.

There are many other ski resorts within easy reach by car - in under an hour you can get to Chamonix, Flaine, Megeve/St Gervais and Courmayeur (Italy), offering a vast choice of places to ski without being stuck in a single resort and at the mercy of the weather!

See Local guide and map for information on nearby towns and facilities.

How To Get To Plateau D Assy in Haute-Savoie, The Rhone Alps (SE France)

Most people bring their own car - we are about 9 hours drive from Calais.

Alternatively the nearest airport is Geneva (Switzerland) which is about an hour's drive with many car hire companies to choose from.

Travelling by rail is not recommended unless you travel inter-city to Geneva or Annecy and hire a car from there.

Please remember that snow tyres and/or chains are compulsory in most ski resorts in winter and we very much recommend that these are fitted.

See Local guide and map for information on nearby towns and airports.

Guest Reviews Of Mont Blanc Views

Though we only stayed for one evening we enjoyed our stay immensely. The place was so well fit-out and organised. It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything you could need in a self-catering home away from home.

The view of Mont Blanc and the valley are spectacular and watching the sunrise from the bed has been a highlight of our trip so far.

Thanks again.

The apartment was set in a fantastic location with the most amazing views of Mont Blanc.  The sunny balcony was provided with a table and chairs plus parasol and made for a perfect breakfast in the sun or a relaxing evening watching the setting sun slowly blend the mountains into the night sky.  The apartment was kitted out with everything you could want including LCD TV, DVD player, iPOD dock, fast wireless (and wired) broadband and plenty of power sockets including UK sockets in both the lounge and bedroom.

The fully fitted kitchen contained every possible convenience including high quality built-in oven/grill and separate built-in microwave, dishwasher and a large full height fridge freezer.  There was more than enough crockery, cutlery and glassware of all shapes and sizes and the only one item missing was a pizza cutter (which has probably now been procured).  The owners even did my grocery shopping for me so everything was there on my arrival saving the shopping expedition that is really not welcome after a long trip.

The main bedroom had a very comfortable double bed and a luxury en-suite bathroom. Everything was provided from towels, extra pillows and blankets to toilet rolls, soap and shampoo and the bedroom also had a clock radio, plentiful lighting, hair dryer, clock radio and even a large selection of books.

The lounge contained a comfy sofa which turned into an equally comfortable double bed with not the usual flimsy mattress normally associated with most sofa beds, but one which would very comfortably allow an adult couple to enjoy many good night's sleep.  Both rooms each had French windows leading onto the balcony with wooden shutters to keep the light out if for some reason the fabulous view bothered you.  In the severest winters these would likely keep out the cold although the apartment required little heating and the radiators were capable of heating a city if used to their full potential.

Whilst compact, the apartment would cater for up to four people but would best be suited to a couple or family with one or two children if the stay was for more than a couple of days.

Whilst the apartment was first class in its self, it was the owners that made our stay most comfortable as they were so attentive to our needs.  They were on hand day and night if required and very keen to make sure everything was just right for us.  This included advice on places to visit, their first-hand experience of the area's plentiful ski-slopes and beauty spots, advice on dining and travelling and a pack of tourist guides for just about every 'attraction' in the region.  They also provided two packs (one French, one English) with instructions covering every appliance in the apartment and simple instructions for setting up wireless Internet access.

In summary, the location was perfect, the apartment wanted for nothing and the owne

We really enjoyed our stay at Mont Blanc Views. It is a beautiful apartment adequately furnished with spectacular views when weather permits. We were lucky to have two great days of wonderful weather. It is a great place to relax. But best of all were the hosts. Sue was great help with everything. If anything, we sort of missed the availability of satellite TV with international channels. I think it might be a worthwhile addition.

I would highly recommend staying at his place. I hope we can return in the near future. To Sue, thanks again!

This apartment is highly recommended for those who like to be self sufficient and enjoy a great view of a stunning part of the world. Sue and Tony have thought of every detail to make one's stay comfortable and deliver an excellent standard of accommodation at a refreshingly reasonable price. We were sad to leave and would gladly return!

This was the most fantastic holiday in which the most "over-used" word was "AMAZING"!

It's clear from the outset that Sue and Tony want their guests to have the best time possible. Sue met us at the apartment car park, showed us round, and gave us the "low down" on the area. This made a huge difference as, beyond wanting to visit the Alps, we had no special plans. Thanks to her advice we visited Lac Vert up above the apartment, took numerous walks, went to Italy for the day "for a pizza", visited Switzerland for the day and, most amazingly (for me because I had a fear of heights - no longer!) we went in the cable car up the Aiguille Du Midi (next peak to Mont Blanc)! All these activities were fixed by the time Sue had left us that first night! Sue and Tony made it plain that they are very much available for their guests if needed, but kept a low profile when they weren't - which was the perfect balance.

The apartment is in a quiet and affluent residential area up above the Passy valley, so it has great and uninterrupted views. It's perfect for a couple, like us, but is equipped for more! Everything we could have wanted was supplied! Not only that, but everything matched, and the apartment has been thoughtfully decorated and equipped. Little details like the matching coffee maker and kettle that also "match" the kitchen decor, the full set of matching crockery (and cutlery), the really nice bathroom decor, and the good quality furnishings and fitments mean that we felt we had stayed somewhere special!

Of course, the most stunning feature of Mont Blanc views is...the stunning view! Not only did the ever-changing face of Mont Blanc fill both the French windows to the lounge and the bedroom (we never closed the bedroom curtains at night - whatever time we woke there it was in all it's magnificent glory!) but the view from the balcony over the whole of the Passy valley is just amazing, day and night. We found it so endlessly fascinating that, whenever we were "in", we spent most of our time on the balcony, whatever time of day or night and whatever the weather. And talking of weather, we had brilliant weather, but even the one time when there was mist and rain (for a few hours only) the balcony provides shelter and the sight of mist and cloud swirling round Mont Blanc still kept us out on the balcony - taking photos! I even took photos from the recycling bins - they must have the best views from any "bins" in the World!!

This may sound like an over-effusive review, but I could say so much more. We live in a beautiful place but from the moment we got back we missed Passy and have been talking about returning to do all the things we would have fitted in if we'd had more time! So, thank you so much Sue and Tony, we had the most brilliant time and we wouldn't think of looking for a different apartment if -no, WHEN we return. I

We found the apartment well equipped and immaculately presented with all day sun and excellent mountain views. The location is ideal for activities in the area and it was good to have the owners nearby when some help and advice was needed. We would certainly stay here again.
