Attractive Converted Stables in Stunning Grounds - Perfect All Year Round

This stunning converted stables (Les Ecuries), is located in the historic village of Argoules. The Gite is full of character and yet is modern in its provision, making it a comfortable holiday right through the year.

It is ideal for families or friends sharing and is close to many eminities for both children and adults. It is within close proximity to the Golf courses at Nampont St Martin and Abbeville.

A great place to watch the 2012 Olympics from a distance, the property sports Satellite Television Transmission, with a 40" TV screen.

 So if you wish to get away but feel you might miss the olympics, then you can relax and enjoy the peace ond quite of the gite and yet tune in to follow your favourite events when you wish.

Holiday Accommodation at Les Ecuries

This rustic converted stable block was originally part of the large hunting lodge complex, which was part of the Chateau of Argoules and originates to before the French Revolution. The house stands within an attractive enclosed characteristic courtyard with original buildings such as the hunting dogs kennels and the Pigeonnier.

The house is bright and airy with many original features including beams and an inglenook fire place containing a wood burner. Accommodation is arranged over two floors, giving plenty of space to relax.

Ground Floor

• A large country kitchen with an area for eating.
• A ground floor bedroom suite, which has a large superking size bed, ensuite bathroom with separate toilet.
• A large sitting room with an inglenook fireplace and woodburner.
• A formal dining area  

On the half landing is:

• A second sitting area, away from the TV and which opens onto a very pleasant sun patio, which overlooks the village green and across to the ancient Auberbe de Gros Tilleau. A great place to sit and have a quite drink.

Second Floor

• One double bedroom
• Two twin rooms (one with large twin beds and the other has single day beds)
• A large light and airy bathroom
• A separate toilet

There is a balcony which overlooks the courtyard.

About Argoules in Somme, Picardie

The Gite is situated in the historic village of Argoules. It has many very pleasant walks or bike rides and areas to have picnics along the way. It is situated beside the Chateau of Argoules and opposite an ancient Auberge de Gros Tilleau.

It is a short stroll from the Abbaye de Valloires, which is a much visited historic building and the only cistercian abbey of the 18th century in France. It has neoclassic cloisters and a vaulted chapter house. The beautiful lounges are decorated in Louis 15th style. The church has sculptures, wrought iron gates and hanging angels and is considered one of the most exceptional sites to visit in the valley. It also has gardens open to the public and is well worth a visit at any time of the year. Next to the Abbey is their restaurant where interesting dishes are served for lunch. It also has a small shop with local postcards and ideal gifts.

The village has two restaurants: The Auberge du Gros Tilleul and the Auberge du Coq en Pate, with others in the nearby villages. 

It has nearby attractions for children including two theme parks and water parks and is about 45 minutes drive from the beaches of Le Touquet, Berch and Fort Mahon.

It is a short distance from St Riquer and its magnificent cathedral, also a short drive from Abbeville, Arras and Amiens. It is within easy reach to many of the war sites and memorials.

How To Get To Argoules in Somme, North East France

It is within easy access from Boulogne, the Tunnel and Calais and the maximum travel time is about one and half hours.

The airpot of Beauvais is approximately about 2hrs drive. Paris and Euro disney are within two and half hours journey.
