Maison Rouelle, Two Holiday Homes with Pool and Large Gardens
Maison Rouelle Holiday homes - two restored stone farmhouses located in the beautiful countryside near to Chateaubriant in the Loire-Atlantique region of France. The houses are located on two sides of a large gravel courtyard with spectacular views from the hilltop.
The Longère sleeps 10 guests in the large farmhouse which has been tastefully restored - including an impressive dining room, TV lounge and games room.
La Chaumière is a cosy two bedroom cottage with original exposed stone walls and log burning stove for the cooler winter months.
Surrounded by a 5 acre garden, with pool and decked area, this is a great location for family holidays.
Holiday Accommodation at The Longère at Maison Rouelle
The Longère at Maison Rouelle is set in the beautiful countryside surrounding the village of Rougé in the Loire Atlantique Department of France. This is only a 10 minute drive to the popular town of Chateaubriant where you will find many shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
The Longère was formally a farm house and cider press and dates back over 200 years to the end of the French Revolution. It now provides quality detached accommodation. The house has retained much of its old world charm, with oak beamed ceilings, thick exposed stone walls and tiled floors.
- The entrance hall and dining area is well proportioned, with a welcoming traditional log burning stove and huge solid oak table with 8 leather dining chairs. To complement the log fires the property also has subtle electric heating for those cooler winter months and there is hot water on tap 24 hours a day.
- To the side of the dining area is the original boulangerie with working oven; this is now a snug, with a large leather pull-out sofabed.
- The kitchen is accessed through double doors off of the dining area and here you will find an oven, hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and enough crockery & cutlery for your needs.
- There is a private patio and BBQ area leading from the kitchen.
- The has a downstairs bathroom with full-sized bath, overhead shower and hand basin along with the washing machine. There is also a separate shower room and WC.
- Beyond the bathrooms, there is a small games room with table football, darts and selection of board games.
- There are two lounges in the Longère – the smaller TV lounge has a TV, DVD player with films and UK free to air satellite channels. The largest room in the house is the formal lounge with log burning stove and two large sofas, a pool table and stereo complete with Cd's.
- Access to the bedrooms is via a solid hardwood staircase which leads you to a wooden panelled landing from which there are four bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms have super king-size beds, and the other two have double beds. A travel cot available on request. A second WC is also to be found on the landing.
About Rouge in Loire-Atlantique, Pays de La Loire
Châteaubriant, only 10km away, holds its colourful weekly market every Wednesday where fresh local produce is available. Alternatively, there are a number of well-stocked larger supermarkets providing for all day to day needs. The old town has a small but pleasant Château and grounds dating from the 12th century which are open to the public. The ramparts provide a view over the town, the little river Chère, a fishing lake and the surrounding area including "L'Eglise de Bere", a well-visited Romanesque church.
Throughout the summer months the château and bandstand within the grounds are host to numerous open air concerts and theatrical productions, many of which are free. There are a variety of restaurants and street cafés which willingly accommodate children and suit all palettes and pockets! As well as experiencing the world famous "Châteaubriant" steak.

How To Get To Rouge in Loire-Atlantique, North West France
La Chaumière at Maison Rouelle is only 1 hour 40 minute drive from the Ferry Port of St Malo, 2.5 hours from Caen, 3 hours from Cherbourg and 5.5 hours from Calais.
Nantes airport is only just over an hour away and this is served by many of the budget airlines from the UK and Ireland, such as Ryanair, Easyjet, FlyBe and Jet2. Car hire is available at the airport.

| Other | The house is entered via an impressive dining room, complete with log burner and solid oak table. To the side of the dining room is a snug which can be used as an extra bedroom if required as there is a large leather sofa that converts into a sofa bed for 2 guests. This room may be suitable for guests with limited mobility, as the bathroom and shower room are also on the ground floor. Along the corridor from the dining room is a TV lounge with games console and several games. Beyond this room is the main formal lounge, with two large sofa and large log burning stove. There is also a pool table here for your enjoyment. Upstairs, there are four bedrooms, two with super-king size beds and two with a double bed each. There are two travel cots available for your use, but please bring your own cot bedding. All other bed linens and house towels are provided (not pool towels). |

| Other | The holiday homes are set around the edge of a large gravel courtyard which has lovely views to the valley below at one end. The houses are surrounded on all sides by flat grassy areas - ideal for playing and running around! One of the barns has been converted into a large al fresco eating area, with built in barbecue - a great place to unwind after a hectic days site seeing. On the other side of the courtyard is a 6.5m x 4.5m above ground pool. The pool has a decking area next to it with sun loungers for relaxing and admiring the view over the countryside. The pool area has great views across the countryside to the south and on a clear day you can see almost as far as Chateaubriant. |

Additional price information
The Longère is available to rent from Easter 2011.
For high season the changeover day is a Saturday, but we are able to be more flexible outside of these summer dates. We can also accommodate long winter lets so please call us for more details.
A 30% deposit will be required to secure the reservation with the remaining payment being made 8 weeks prior to the start of your stay. A £100/€130 security deposit cheque is also required against any damages to the property.
We are able to accept payment by cheque or direct bank transfer, either in Pounds Sterling or Euros.
A heating charge of £60 per week is applicable during the colder months.
