Spacious Farmhouse with Jacuzzi in Tranquil Settings

Set in 1.5 hectares of garden, Le Petit Brossard offers spacious accommodation in a tranquil, rural setting, yet provides easy access to the wealth of tourist attractions to be found in the Loire valley.

Originally two farm houses, these have been united to form a single building, using old materials to maintain the charm of the period features throughout. Situated just south of the village, it is an enjoyable 15 minute stroll across rolling farm land to buy croissants and delicious French bread for breakfast from the local bakery. A grocer and butcher also operate in the village.

The famous Loire castles are within easy reach and there are concerts (from blues and jazz to chamber music and choral) throughout the summer. When you have had enough culture, there are excellent local wine producers to visit, not to mention swimming, windsurfing, walking and horse-riding for the more energetic. And at the end of the day, what could be better than relaxing in our outdoor jacuzzi, sipping a glass of champagne under a starry sky?

Holiday Accommodation at Le Petit Brossard

Le Petit Brossard is located within walking distance of a quiet village with grocer's, baker's and butcher's shops. It has four bedrooms and bathrooms/shower rooms, two of which are en-suite. In addition to a large farmhouse style kitchen, it has three living rooms and extensive (1.5 hectare) grounds, with a 5-person jacuzzi for your exclusive use.

The property was formerly two houses, now connected. The original smaller house consists of a living room (now used as a study/artists studio), with bedroom and en-suite bathroom above. It provides private, almost separate accommodation.

The large farmhouse kitchen, converted from the original stables has a wealth of beams and a dining table for family breakfasts (when not taken outdoors!). An oak staircase leads to the remaining three bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite shower room. The living room has comfortable seating and television (satellite) with video and DVD players. The separate dining room (garden room) has large French windows opening south onto the original farmyard.

About Orbigny in Indre-et-Loire, Loire Valley

The property is situated in a quiet rural location, within walking distance of a village with essential (food) shopping. The market towns of St. Aignan, Montresor and Loches are all about 15-20 minutes away by car and offer large supermarkets and restaurants, as well as other tourist attractions. There is an excellent restaurant just five minutes away and swimming/canoing/windsurfing opportunities can be reached within 10-20 minutes. The major attractions in the area are, of course the famous chateaux.

The most well known, Chenonceaux, is just 20 minutes away, whilst all but the most distant (Saumur and Angers) can be reached in under an hour. There are also numerous, smaller and more intimate castles to see, like Montresor and Montpoupon, that are only 10-15 minutes away and several of these put on musical concerts in the summer. The wines of Vouvray and Montlouis are justifiably famous and their producers welcome visitors all year round. Worth trying, also, are the wines of Touraine, in particular the sauvignan blanc and sparkling pinks and whites, and local excellent producers are only 10 minutes away.  The new A85 motorway now makes a visit to the Futuroscope theme park near Poitier an easy day trip.

How To Get To Orbigny in Indre-et-Loire, Central France

Le Petit Brossard is easily reached from the channel ports, either by the A10, via Paris, from northern France or by the A28/A85 from the north-west. Alternatively, there are good connections from the south west (A28/A85) south (A20) and south east (A71/A85). The nearest airport is Tours, where there are a range of hire car companies operating.
