Two Lovingly Restored Holiday Gites

The old farm of Au Matou is situated in the Lot-et-Garonne on the borders of the Dordogne and Gironde only 20 mins from Bergerac Airport.

We would love to welcome you to our 350 year old farmhouse, which now boasts two refurbished holiday cottages and an 11m x 5m swimming pool. Our pool has the sunshine all day long, perfect for cooling off during the hot summer days.

'Le Grand Pin' is designed for two (one double bed) & has a mezzanine floor, vaulted ceilings & has been furnished & decorated in a contemporary 'loft style'. Well equipped including  TV, DVD, English Satellite channels, ipod/iphone docking station, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and microwave.

 'Les Tournesols' is designed for four (1 double, 1 twin) & has been furnished & decorated in a contemporary and sympathetic style. Well equipped including TV, DVD, English Satellite channels, ipod/iphone docking station, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, oven and microwave. 

• A complimentary 'starter' pack, which includes tea, coffee, sugar, milk, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, washing powder, fabric softner, liquid hand soap and toilet rolls is provided to ensure you can holiday straight away without rushing to the shops. We also provide a complimentary bottle of wine, bottle water and chocolates for guests to enjoy.
• By prior arrangement we can also provide a lunchtime or evening meal on the day of your arrival so you don't have to worry about cooking or heading out on the day you arrive. Two or three courses plus bottle of local wine, please email for a sample menu and price.

We live onsite which means we are available should you need our help or assistance. By prior arrangement we can organise local wine tasting, excursions and pick up and drop off service should you want to dine at one of the local restaurants without driving. We are always happy to share our knowledge of the local area (and wine choices!) with our guests.

About La Sauvetat Du Dropt in Lot-et-Garonne, Aquitaine

We have two lovingly restored holiday gites set in over 4 1/2 acres of peaceful countryside, both spacious and well equipped. We are within easy reach of the 12th-14th Century Bastide towns of Eymet, Duras, Miramont de Guyenne and slightly further afield is the acknowledged Monpazier, Brantome (visit the 9th Century Benedictine Abbey), Perigueux, Bordeaux (Capital of Aquitaine), St Emilion are places you will remember and savour, well worth building into your itinerary. Bergerac is just half an hour away set on the banks of the Dordogne river, bustling with markets, cafes, restaurants and shopping.

Lovely walks on the doorstep and a 5 minute drive to the lively  bars and restaurants of Eymet and Miramont, popular all year round.  Local markets take place on a daily basis throughout the area. We are 10-15minutes from two lakes with all sporting facilities (quad bikes, horse riding, flumes, beaches). Just over an hour from the coast, a favourite for everyone is Arcachon Basin and Dune de Plya, Europe's highest sand dune with superb views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Bordeaux, regarded as the wine capital of the world, is just over an hour away and St Emilion even closer.
