About Abilly in Indre-et-Loire, Loire Valley
Tours - sometimes called the second Paris, Tours is the capital of the Touraine region and has some excellent shopping facilities and tourist attractions, an airport served by Ryanair and mainline TGV station.
Poitiers - home of one of France's oldest universities, Poitiers is full of history and wonderful old buildings which are best viewed by taking one of the marked walks through the city. Poitiers has an airport served by Ryanair and a cinema that shows current films in English.
Loches - second home for the historical kings and queens of France, Loches is a lively town boasting its own Chateau and Keep and is a lovely place to wander about and stop off for coffee in the square and watch the world go by.
Futuroscope - as the second most visited attraction in France, Futuroscope is without doubt an absolute must for any visitor of any age. Built around the theme of "the moving image" Futuroscope has so much to offer it's hard to do it justice in one day and it has an evening laser and light show that is absolutely fantastic.
Chateaux - with so many to see how do you choose? Chenonceau, with its unforgettable position across the river Cher, is the most visited chateau. Villandry is an absolute treat with its decorated rooms and fabulous gardens. Azay-le-Rideau remains one of our favourites and there's the chateau at Ussé which was the model for Disney's Sleeping Beauty.
Brenne National Park - the land of 1000 lakes, the park is a haven for wildlife and a must for all birdlovers.
Lake at St Cyr - with its sandy beach (yes, in the heart of France!) the lake at St Cyr offers swimming, sailing, golf and of course sandcastles!
Angles sur Anglin - has to be one of France's most picturesque villages with the ruined castle perched high on the hill overlooking the river, water mill and village - make sure you bring your camera.
Haute Touche - France's largest wildlife reserve is home to the breeding programs for some of the world's most endangered species and makes a great day out with a picnic and your bikes (yes you get to cycle around the animals in the reserve - mind the lions!).
Chauvigny - in our opinion one of the best bird displays anywhere! Free flying birds of all sorts soaring high above the ruined castle overlooking the town is a sight to behold.
La Roche Posay - home to the pharmaceutical giant La Roche, there is a casino if you fancy your luck and cabarets and there is also horse racing including trotting races.
Grand Pressigny - costing 8 million Euros to refurbish, the Museum of Pre-History at Grand Pressigny is a great way to find out about the history of the stone-age era which has been so important in shaping the regions history.
And all these can be reached easily within an hour.

Guest Reviews Of La Laiterie
The Malster family
9/10/12
We all had a super time during our stay in Le Laiterie. There was a wealth of local information and places to visits in the gite. The personal touch from both of you was exceptional and made us feel very welcome. I would love to return year after year with so many places to visit. We would always choose to stay in Le Laiterie after our great experience on holiday. Nothing was too much effort even the spontaneous trip to A&E late one Saturday evening. Many thanks for the great holiday.

I believe that this gite is undersold.
Excellent standard, warm pool, quiet outlook, plenty of places to visit, good selection of places to eat, and amiable landlords! All the best for the future.
