Character Stone Farmhouse with Private Pool and Lovely Views

Le Mas is a lovely restored stone farmhouse, surrounded by a wooded garden laid to grass, on the edge of a tiny rural hamlet, quiet but not remote. The beautiful, 10m x 5m swimming pool, with gentle steps at the shallow end, has sun all day and is surrounded by a large paved terrace and stone walls provide privacy and security - a special place to watch sunsets. There is poolside lighting and a solar heated shower. A lovely dining balcony looks over the garden and pool and is a good place to watch the abundant bird life and resident red squirrels.

Le Mas comprises:

First floor

Three bedrooms sleeping 6 and all with chests of drawers, wardrobes and beamed ceilings. All bedrooms have electric radiators and pull down insect screens on all bedroom windows.

Baby/toddler   We provide a large travel cot, a highchair, baby bath and potty.

  • Double bedroom with en-suite shower, basin, WC and electric towel rail.
  • Two twin bedrooms, one leading onto a balcony with wide stone steps down to the garden.
  • Landing with linen press and French windows leading onto a lovely roofed dining terrace with views over the garden, swimming pool and fields.

Ground Floor

  • Fully equipped open plan kitchen with solid beech units, large dining table, exposed beams, seating area with sofa and 4 wicker, cushioned armchairs. A beautiful oak staircase leads to the bedrooms.
  • Door to garden.
  • Entrance hall and large shower room with basin, WC and heated towel rail, also with washing machine and tumble drier.
  • Stone tiled floor throughout ground floor and electric radiators.

About Caylus in Tarn-et-Garonne, Midi Pyrenees

Le Mas is situated amidst fields above the beautiful River Bonnette valley. The medieval village of Caylus is 5 minutes drive with essential shops, cafes, restaurants and markets.

Historic St Antonin Noble Val is 10 minutes drive and has excellent restaurants, a lively Sunday market, bank, cinema, newsagent (English papers), shops and galleries. It is in the River Aveyron Gorge - superb fishing and canoing/kayaking.

Within 30 minutes drive are beautiful towns and villages- Cordes-sur-Ciel, Najac, Penne, Bruniquel and Villefranche de Rouergue. Within an hour's drive are Albi, Cahors and Montauban. Culture, history, adventure, gastronomy and peace in plenty.

Additional price information

Out of high season, which is June, July and August, it does not always have to be a Saturday changeover. Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am, please.

To secure a booking we ask for a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the rental price at the time of booking. The balance is payable no later than 8 weeks before arrival, please. We can accept payment by cheque or bank transfer.

Bed linen and towels are, of course, provided, but not pool towels.

The only other charge is a refundable damage deposit of £200.
