L'Ancienne Ecole du Molliet is the perfect base, both winter and summer for a wonderful mountain holiday. Renovated to a high standard, the house sleeps up to 8 in 4 bedrooms, with plenty of space for everyone.

The balcony to the front of the house, leading off from the sitting area overlooks the small garden and is a beautiful spot for an evening drink in the summer months, looking out over the river and the mountains beyond.

There is a wealth of activities on the doorstep, with something to suit all ages and tastes and many beautiful villages and towns to visit. You will not be disappointed.

Holiday Accommodation at L'Ancienne Ecole du Molliet

L'Ancienne Ecole du Molliet is a pretty former, stone built, village primary school built in 1859. Renovated, this house has four bedrooms accommodating a maximum of eight people and consists:

• The bedrooms on the first floor, consist of one double room with king size bed, and two further twin bedrooms. All rooms have good storage with built in cupboards and chest of drawers, and hair dryer, CD and radio in the double room. One of the twin bedrooms leads out to a small balcony at the rear of the house.
• The bathroom with small bath and overhead shower completes the first floor.
• The open plan ground floor has a large, well equipped kitchen, including iron and ironing board, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob and bean to cup coffee maker. Radio with iPod dock.
• The dining room table seats eight and the sitting room has three comfortable sofas, and a wood burning stove. There is a selection of games and books. The house is centrally heated and double glazed. The TV/DVD, in the sitting room, has Freeview, so English channels can be viewed. WIFI available.
• A door leads from the sitting room out onto the balcony at the front of the house. This is a lovely place to sit out during the summer months and enjoy the breathtaking scenery, with the constant soothing sound of running water along the valley. The balcony overlooks the small garden and the river, with garden furniture for use during the summer months.
• Stairs from the ground floor lead down to the basement of the house, and the fourth bedroom, with en-suite bathroom. The bedroom has a king size double bed and looks out over the garden; the bathroom has a bath with shower attachment. Leading off from the bedroom is a utility room with washing machine and dryer.
• There is also a drying room for all outdoor equipment that can be reached from an outside door in the garden, so that all ski equipment and outdoor clothing can be placed here before entering the house.
• An open, undercover garage for two cars is next to the house.
• A delivered French Breakfast for every day of your stay is available. The service is 35€ per person per week and is payable on arrival.
• We are also able to provide your party with a 3 course evening meal, including wine, beer and soft drinks. The cost of this service is 28€ per person, payable on the night. We do require 48 hours notice and notice of any dietry requirements.
• Delivered Shopping Baskets!  We would like to make your holday more relaxed. To save you initial shopping and for your convenience we offer you the opportunity to order one of our pre-selected Shopping Baskets which will be delivered prior to your arrival.

About Sixt Fer A Cheval in Haute-Savoie, Rhone Alps

L'Ancienne Ecole du Molliet is situated near the head of the Giffre valley in the peaceful hamlet of Le Molliet, 2 kms from the village of Sixt Fer a Cheval and a 10 minute drive from the village of Samoens.

The house is 5 minutes away from the chair lift at Sixt from where you can access the surrounding runs at Sixt and the easier slopes for those learning to ski. A free ski bus from Sixt takes you to Samoens and the Grand Massif ski area; one of the largest European ski areas. Guests will need their own transport to access the skiing areas.

The Giffre Valley lies in the heart of the Grand Massif about an hour's drive from Geneva. Sixt Fer a Cheval is a 2 minute drive from the house, in a rural, agricultural setting, and has been classified as one of the most beautiful villages in France. The village offers wonderful architecture and is surrounded by stunning scenery. Everyday needs, such the patisserie and a small supermarket can be found here, along with some good places to eat out.

The beautiful medieval village of Samoens is just a 10 minute drive from the house. Here you can wander through the town with it's medieval squares, gardens and many buildings of interest. Samoens is the only summer and winter sports resort to hold the title of 'town of artistic, architectural and historic interest' by the Guides in the heritage Department. One of the largest markets in the Haute-Savioe is held here every Wednesday (7am to 1pm), where you will be able to buy local fresh produce and gifts to bring home! Samoens offers many shops, restaurants and a supermarket.

The list of activities in the area, both for summer and winter, is huge. In winter activities include cross country skiing, off piste skiing, downhill slopes, para-gliding, helicopter flights, skidoos and ice climbing to mention but a few.

During the summer months cycle touring and mountain biking, fishing, para-gliding, mountaineering, white water rafting, potholing, swimming and walking are just a few activities that can be enjoyed.

How To Get To Sixt Fer A Cheval in Haute-Savoie, The Rhone Alps (SE France)

• Geneva is only an hour away by road and airport transfers can be arranged.
• Geneva is served by a number of airports in the UK including Gatwick, Stanstead, Bournemouth, Bristol, Liverpool, Newcastle, Luton and Exeter amongst others.
• Car hire is easy form Geneva Airport, Switzerland.
• Sixt Fer a Cheval is also easily accessible from the Channel Tunnel and Channel Ports via the excellent French autoroute network. The journey can be completed in one day.
