Converted Wine Barn, Riverside Location in the Heart of 'Cote du Rhone'

'La Grange des Vignes' translates as 'the barn of the vines' and that is exactly what it is. The gite was originally a wine barn, converted in 2010.

The grapes from the Condrieu region were once crushed and made into wine in the barn and then piped down to the large cellar below. Today we are proud to offer this fantastic building as a holiday home.

Holiday Accommodation at La Grange des Vignes - The Barn of the Vines

The Gite is largely on the first floor of the barn, giving it a fantastic view of the Pilat National Park and Condrieu Vineyards. From the terrace you can see tall boats passing down the Rhone River.  In autumn and winter months when it's cooler outside you can still benefit from the amazing view through the french doors while curling up on the leather sofas.  The gite consists of 2 bedrooms, a living area and kitchen, bathroom, large entrance hall with extra bed, cellar and large private terrace. There is easy parking close by.

At an additional charge it is also possible to rent the owners fully equipped gym with an additional bathroom and sleeping area.

About Les Roches De Condrieu in Isère, Rhone Alps

Les Roches de Condrieu is situated between Lyon and Valance, 15km south of Vienne and it is partially encircled by the Rhone River. It is one of the smallest towns in France yet it boasts one of Europe's largest river ports. There is a train station connecting it directly to Vienne and Lyon in the North and Valance in the South.

Not only is there a port but also a lake with a beach and cable water skiing. Alternatively you can swim in the local outdoor pool, which is just a 3 minute walk away or enjoy a game of tennis in the stade. The town is small but has two bakers (the nearest is 150m) and various shops, a pharmacy, hairdressers, market and a post office. The nearest supermarket is less than 1km away.

Les Roches is connected to Condrieu by a bridge, here you will find many more shops and restaurants and some fantastic wine! Condrieu is famous for it's white wine and the vineyards on the steep valley sides are an amazing site.

The local town of Vienne has plenty for tourists to do, including an intimate rediscovery of Roman culture with a museum offering an open-side and a walk through the old Romain city. In the centre of Vienne, you will be surprised by the "Temple of Augustus and Livie", an original Roman temple kept in a pristine condition. You will be able to relax in the evening in the antic amphitheathre that hosts yearly an international jazz festival and welcomes all year-long great artists and shows. The town also offers the second biggest market in France, a theatre, cinema, bowling alley and endless boutiques.

How To Get To Les Roches De Condrieu in Isère, The Rhone Alps (SE France)

By Air: Lyon airport is 45 minutes drive and St Etienne and Grenoble airports are within an hour.

By Train: The train station is 5 minutes walk from the Gite and is on the Lyon / Valance line (28 mins from Lyon).

By Boat: You can come by boat on the Rhone River. Please contact the Capitainerie for mooring information.

By Car: The gite is 10 minutes South of the Condrieu autoroute exit.
