The Main Sitting Room (18ft x 20ft)

The main Air Conditioned Sitting Room has a wall mounted Plasma TV, UK sky+, wooden coffee table and rugs for maximum comfort.

Here you can relax in one of the three comfy sofas and watch your favourite show or simply relax with a glass of wine and a good book (a huge library of excellent English books supplied including fiction, romance novels, biography & thrillers!) An excellent variety of glossy magazines supplied will keep you entertained with favourites like Homes & Gardens, Country Living, 25 Beautiful Homes, Marie Claire plus Hello, Ok and Heat to name but a few.

A helpful comprehensive folder lists local restaurants, both child-friendly and 'just for the grown-ups', top-ten activities to do with the kids, plus maps of the area, best beaches to visit and lots of details regarding local attraction to enjoy plus much more. Excellent for planning your days out (and not finding the best activity on the last day!) and a great read over a glass of wine!  

Kids TV/Play Room (12ft x 15ft)

Also on the ground floor is the Home Cinema Room with projector TV the kids can enjoy as it's just like being at the movies!  This is an excellent 'chill out' room for the kids after a hectic day at the beach or in the pool where they can cuddle up and relax watching their favourite TV show (which you recorded with the sky+ whilst you were all out having fun during the day!)  

Not to be missed by the whole family is the huge selection (over 200!) family/children's classic films by Disney, Warner bros, Fox & Universal plus many, many more.

The younger kids will find lots of great, fun and interesting toys, from train sets to building blocks, dolls house, wooden rocking horse, dressing up clothes and shoes, to family classic board games and puzzles, plus many toys just for babies. 

The older kids will love the Wii console with Wii sports supplied, and X-box 360 with Kinect Dance Central supplied but do remember to bring your own games to! 

Additional TV Area (14.4ft x 9.1ft)

If two sitting rooms arn't enough, on the 1st floor landing, you will find an Air Conditioned TV area with another plasma wall mounted TV screen with a comfy sofa for those who prefer to watch TV away from it all....!   

The Superbly Appointed Kitchen (10ft x 20ft)

The newly fitted kitchen has been meticulously furnished and equipped. Nespresso coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave.  Lots of large and small serving dishes, crockery and cutlery are provided, so there will be no shortage when cooking a large family meal.

Those little extras- Beau Rivage is a self catering holiday home so you will need to bring/buy basic essentials.  However to make things a little easier for your arrival you will find, complimentary, a small supply of essentials including tea, coffee, sugar, washing-up liquid, dish-cloths, dish washer tablets, bin bags, kitchen foil, cling-film, kitchen towels & salt/pepper pots and toilet rolls.

We have also catered for the little ones - with child-friendly crockery & cutlery, themed place mats, a baby-bottle warmer, hand food blender, a microwavable bottle steriliser, a high chair and a pushchair (all included in the price).

Additional equipment such as a high chair and a travel cot can be supplied extra on request.

The Dining Area (10ft x 13ft) has a large table with seating for up to 15.

Six Double Bedrooms

Beau Rivage has six bedrooms. Each master bedroom and children's room are in distinctive areas allowing plenty of privacy (please see the floor plan under the gallery tab) when families are sharing.  All bedrooms have solid wooden shutters for a restful nights sleep.

We also offer daily maid service (at a supplement) so your beds can be ready for you to slip into after a hard day at the beach or round the pool!

• Taxi service - Due to the strict levels of drinking and driving laws in France and the abundance of local police officers monitoring all drivers, we also offer a taxi service to and from restaurants, beaches and local attractions so a nice enjoyable day or evening out can be had by everyone. • Early check in - Do you want to be laying by the pool by 2pm on the day of your arrival? Then take advantage of our early check in programme. Your villa will be put on priority listings with the cleaners so it will be the first villa to be ready that day.

• Private Gourmet Chef at your villa For a truly memorable experience with your family or friends, have a gourmet private chef bring your fine dining experience to your villa. A choice of wonderful starters, delicious main course, yummy deserts, a cheese board of local produce, Nespresso coffee plus 1/2 a bottle of wine per person. The price includes the meal brought to your villa for the final preparation and full plated service, a waitress on hand for service, clearing away and washing up.

• Towel hire - All our beach/pool towels are 100% cotton and large! It does mean there is that added bonus of having that bit of extra space in the car on the way home for those bottles of wine!!   Please note - hand towels and bath towels are supplied at the property.

• Additional linen – Would you like to take advantage of our linen service?  We can supply new linen (all bedding and towels) mid way through your holiday.  The existing linen will need to be ready for collection on the delivery day morning(Saturday/Sunday for two week lets and a Wednesday for one week lets) and left in the bags supplied.

• Cleaning – We are able to offer daily maid service (subject to availability for Saturday's and Sundays)  if you really want some time to relax. If you would like to take advantage of this service, please let us know asap as this service is in high demand and is subject to availability.

About Le Bernard in Vendée, Pays de La Loire

Beau Rivage is just a 2 minute stroll to the wonderful village of Longeville sur Mer, which has a large street market on both Monday and Friday mornings in the summer months - an excellent opportunity to sample much of the locally produced food, including cheese, meat, fish and wine.

In the summer months the village organises special events in the square including fun days, evening entertainers, jazz and blues nights, firework displays and night markets. You can sit with the locals and enjoy 'moules & frites' listening to a band watching the kids dance to their hearts content.

Located so close to the village of Longeville sur Mer, you can either pop down in the morning to pick up your fresh baguette and croissants or visit one of the restaurants in the evening.

Longeville has its own Office de Tourisme, as well as a post office, two banks, a hairdresser, a pharmacy, cafés/bars and two restaurants. There are also two supermarkets, a butchers, a fishmonger, a fruit & vegetable shop and that most important 'cave'!

The large fishing port of l'Aiguillon is just 20 minutes away. Early risers can choose from a range of freshly-caught fish, mussels, oysters, langoustine and gambas at the town's fish market which is open every weekday at 5am. Those who prefer a lie-in can sample the seafood later in the day at one of the many wonderful fish restaurants in the town.

Blue Flag Sandy Beaches (5 minutes away by car)
The fantastic sandy beaches are over 13 kilometres long - and 8 kilometres of them face due south. La-Tranche-sur-Mer and Les Conches are ideal for families with children. They are approved as a "Kids’ Station", which means that the resort is a safe environment for children to play in. It also has specialist equipment and entertainments which specifically cater for families.

Great quading experience (10 minutes away by car)
Let the kids (and indeed the big boys!) be the next Lewis Hamilton or Jenson Button for a while! Whiz around the course and have a great thrill trying to beat your opponents. For safety reasons, the kids go on the course only with other children and the safety briefing is excellent. Whilst they are having fun on the track, the rest of the party can have a nice coffee in the covered terrace area. www.vendee-kart.fr

Indian Forest Adventure (10 minutes away by car)
This great theme park has marked trails in a forest, as well as 122 different challenges. Suspended on safety harnesses, you are able to climb, swing, dismount and even slide across the forest at a height of 20ft above the ground. There is also an adventure area for toddlers, with themed bouncy castles, a ball park, rock climbing and an inflatable park. Sporting activities on the beach (10 minutes away by car)
The beach at La-Tranche-sur-Mer has a 6-hectare area of water for water sports. The "Cercle Nautique Tranchais" (CNT) offers sailing, windsurfing, kite-surfing and sand-sailing. The area is also superb for boating and surfing enthusiasts

Adventure Park & Chateau (10 minutes away by car)
Experience the ‘historic adventure' in the setting of the grounds of the chateau de la guignardiere. Visit four continents of the world and solve the various puzzles as you go round. Get all the answers correct at the end the children get to open the treasure chest which holds a special reward for them. Aquarium La Rochelle (1hr 15mins away by car)
This is a 2 hour journey into the depth of the ocean - our kids just loved it here. There were over 10,000 Atlantic, Mediterranean and Tropical species to view in an amazing 3 million litres of water. The huge shark aquarium with 20 different species was amazing if not a little frightening (although more so for me than the kids!) Dunes adventure Park (1hr away by car)
With over 38 different activities for the children to play on, the kids are bound to find a favourite! We spent a full day here and loved every minute of it. The kids thoroughly enjoyed everything on offer especially the water slides, trampolines (fully enclosed) and toboggan rides. A very safe, clean and friendly environment and lots of under cover shaded picnic area.

Puy du Fou (1hr 30mins away by car)
This is where time stands still - and will be an instant hit with children and adults alike. You'll see villages from different eras, gladiators still doing battle and Vikings launching attacks on fortified castles! In the summer, there are 28 evening/night shows with 300 fireworks per show, 2000 digitally-controlled projectors, 1500 computerised fountains, 4500 costumes and many more special effects. Cycle rail on tracks (1hr 30 away by car)
This is a great chance for the entire family to have some quality time together taking in the beautiful countryside, and wildlife whilst enjoying a picnic. Oceanile water park (2hrs away by car)
At the heat of Norimoutier this wonderful water park offers plenty of laughter for the entire family. Fishing on the rivers (5 minutes away by car)
You can enjoy two types of fishing - On the freshwater rivers upstream from the lock gates at Moricq, you can try for pike, perch, carp, bream and other bleak. You will need a licence which can be purchased at our office du tourism. Or you can fish in the saltwater reaches of the Lay, from the gates of Moricq to the mouth of the river which is subject to maritime regulations, so you can fish free of charge, for grey mullet, eels and plaice.
