Holiday Accommodation at Le Ferme d'Saule

La Ferme d'Saule is a beautifully finished conversion offering an impressive specification within stunning grounds.

Accessing La Ferme d'Saule is through wooden gates that lead into a fully enclosed courtyard with ample graveled parking. This stunning area is endowed with a very large willow tree, rambling roses and honeysuckle. In addition the courtyard is equipped with sun loungers and a large table for al fresco dining on a slabbed patio.

On entering the propertry through double oak doors you'll be welcomed by:

• A 50ft open plan lounge/dining room incorporating exposed beams within a vaulted ceiling. In addition this stunning space boasts a mezzanine gallery, wood stove, extensive tuffeau stone walls amongst many of the original features.
• A large, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher is completed with solid oak work surfaces and a impressive centre island, perfect for food preparation on a grand scale!

At the southern end of the house through, a small stone lined passage you'll find:

• The original "piggery" which, has been transformed into the master bedroom en-suite. This area is tastefully finished using soft cream tones reclaimed, handmade floor tiles and exposed beams. A timber framed kingsize bed with, additional pull out single bed, plus a luxurious 5 piece bathroom. Pedestal fan and window netting.

The other end of the property is arranged into:

• Two more bedrooms
• An additional bathroom and
• A separate utility area

The larger of the two bedrooms has been converted from the bread producing kitchen it once was, into a gorgeous and relaxing 'chambre'. The centre piece of this room is the bread oven which, has been restored along with the oak beams above. With pedestal fan and, window netting.

Bedroom three offers occupancy up to three births. With an open fire place, exposed beams and tuffeau stone walls. Pedestal fan and window netting.

Further long the hall you'll find bathroom two, offering a WC, basin, full size bath with shower and a separate showering cubicle.

Wireless internet access, Free-Sat TV with DVD player and a powerful I-Pod docking station are available in the lounge.

Through the 'north facing' set of French doors from the kitchen you'll be greeted by a private, sunken patio with stone walling and BBQ, over looking the front gardens and fields beyond beneath a timber pergola. This quaint spot is occupied by the morning sun and is perfect for admiring a peaceful sunset.

About Aubigne Racan in Indre-et-Loire, Loire Valley

Chateaux, racing (Le Mans), fishing, boating (Le Loir river), wine tasting all is on offer in the surrounding area of La Guetterie!

The Loire Valley is well known for it’s chateaux. There are a number of chateaux a short drive from the property, with many others along the length of the valley. Chambord, Chenonceau, Chevernay and Azay-le-rideau to name a few are all easily accessible from the property.

If you would like to partake in some wine tasting there are an abundance of vineyards in this area.

For fishermen Le Loir offers both fishing and boating. This river runs just behind the fields of the property. Of course La Loire is the larger river in the region. This river runs just south of the property and, is within walking distance.

If you or the kids fancy trying something a little more hair-raising, Futuroscope is located in Poitiers. This amusement park is dedicated to film, special effects and audiovisual techniques. Also, the zoo at La Fleche is highly recommended.

How To Get To Aubigne Racan in Indre-et-Loire, Central France

There are a variety of ways you an get to The Loire Valley. Both Tour & Poitiers offer airports that are between 45 mins to 2 hours drive to/from La Guetterie. If flying into Paris it’s extremely easy to take the TGV (a high-speed train) to Le Mans and then onto Aubigne Racan. (The local village). Of course you can also take the ferry or Euro tunnel and make the trip in the comfort of your own car.

The motorway from Calais takes you to within 6 miles of the property making the journey extremely easy.
