Peaceful Spacious House with Views and Easy Access to the Pyrenees
'Bright and airy please' was our request to the architect when we restored the house a few years ago. Our spacious accomodation gives plenty of room for relaxing if you have been mountain walking, skiing, cycling, horse riding or one of the many other leisure activities offered in the Pyrenees.
This is real France. You can join the locals, at lunch time, a short walk away in the local Auberge. Their set menu, including wine, will mean that you'll be glad of our inviting terrace, overlooking rolling hills, giving you an undisturbed afternoon siesta.
If you've just come in from a snowy walk in the mountains the central heating ensures that the house is nice and warm. It's still surprising how often the sun warms the courtyard enough to eat outside.
In the evening, after a relaxing meal, prepared in the well equiped kitchen using fresh local produce, clear away the plates and, by gently lifting the top of the dining table, have a game of billiards or snooker. Alternatively, for that special occasion there are plenty of gastronomic restaurants a short car journey away.
Holiday Accommodation at Pyrenean Views
Our house is bright and open with a twin aspect - the front overlooking the Pyrenees and the back open countryside. Your car can be parked undercover with space in the front courtyard for another 2 cars.
Accommodation comprises:
- The entrance hall - Used to store shoes and coats, also has that favourite of French games - table football. This leads into the downstairs lounge.
- Downstairs Lounge - Large with plenty of comfortable seating. A spiral staircase takes you up to one of the double bedrooms, with en-suite. Double aspect the room has patio doors leading to both the rear terrace and front courtyard.
A door gives access to the rest of the house - kitchen, dining room, upstairs lounge, two double bedrooms, two bathrooms and utility room.
- Kitchen - Well equipped, the kitchen is separated from the dining room and leads to:
- The utility room and
- Shower/toilet
- Dining room - Passing double doors, giving access onto the front courtyard, you reach the dining area. The large table converts into a snooker/billiard table and will easily seat 8 people - there are table settings for 12. The stairs lead up to the first floor.
First Floor
At the top of the stairs is:
- The second lounge. A beautiful seating area, it has views, through the double doors, to the Pyrenees, dominated by the Pic du Midi de Bigorre topped by its famous observatory. The television and DVD player are located here.
- Two double bedrooms. One of the bedrooms has views over the Pyrenees and a dressing room. The bedrooms share
- The third bathroom
Outside
Rear terrace - Overlooking the garden, with its terraces, it has views over open countryside. A brick built charcoal barbecue, or if you prefer the gas barbecue, are available and this is where you will find the sun loungers, large patio table and parasol. The terrace is sun bathed from mid-morning and is the perfect place to watch the sunset over the hills.
Front courtyard - Covered in small stones, this overlooks the Pyrenees. A patio table makes this a perfect spot for breakfast as the sun is in the front from early morning to afternoon.

A delightful stay in a very well located and spacious property. The property is well equipped and deceptively large, with the large veranda ideal for outdoor dining or simply relaxing watching eagles circle overhead. With Tour de France cols like the Aspin and Tourmalet nearby as well as the delightful network of lanes and flatter country north of Tarbes there is something for cyclists of all abilities, and similarly for walkers - from the beauty of the Baronies to the high Pyrenees. The nearby town of Bangerres de Biggore has a good range of shops and restaurants and wonderful market. Orignac is quiet and friendly - all in all a great place for a break.

We drove down to this lovely house in August, the owners were really helpful with their advise. It has the look of the typical French farmhouse with exposed beams and slanting ceilings, yet has been modernised to accommodate very spacious modern living. Taking our student daughters, it was perfect for us with the two living rooms and three bathrooms. We enjoyed time together - barbecues on the veranda and snooker games - and time separately with lots of space inside and out, and local countryside to explore. The views from the front and back are fabulous. You feel part of the French country life with friendly neighbours, visiting bread van and the cows going down for milking on the road outside.
The general area is stunning - Bagnere- de-Bigorre is a pretty town with interesting streets. Don't miss Le Lac de Gaube for mind blowing scenery. Enjoy a peaceful and stunning holiday here.

We had a great break in your lovely house, which far exceeded our expectations. With its proximity to nordic and downhill skiing, it made an ideal base for our winter holiday.
Despite chilly weather outside, the house was lovely and warm (which has not always been the case on past holidays!). We only had the radiators on setting 2 so I imagine the heating would cope with considerably colder, if required. A real asset for winter lettings.
Being so comfortable and well equipped it was great to just spend some time "at home" - a rarity in holiday accommodation. Of course our break came to an end too soon and we returned home rather reluctantly. I already miss the wonderful views and clear mountain air and can see why you are keen to visit whenever possible.
