Beautifully Restored Property Located in Peaceful Countryside on the outskirts of the village of Langourla

This very attractive, well equipped detached country property which dates back to the 18th Century has been tastefully furnished and beautifully restored to a very high standard, all the furnishings are new. La Chouette is totally secluded within its own well maintained grounds (approx 1500 sq meters) having plenty of space for children to play in, this is certainly an ideal base and property for a fabulous family holiday!

The property is situated in the very peaceful countyside and is surrounded by fields and country woodlands boasting stunning scenic views! On the far side of the owners property there are some stables and country fields, here you will find Jackie and Bernard's beautiful horses and ponies... all five them!

Owners onsite so help and advice always available on your doorstep if required!

Holiday Accommodation at La Chouette

La Chouette comfortably accommodates 6/7 people in 3 bedrooms. Accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor

Beamed spacious open plan lounge and dining room:

  • The relaxing and comfortable sitting room is tastefully furnished with 3 sofas seating 7-8 at ease. Equipped with an LCD TV receiving Sky UK Freeview channels, DVD and Radio/CD player.
  • The dining area is furnished with a victorian pine dining table and chairs, a sideboard containing glasses and a selection of board games and a book case, which benefits from an excellent choice of books and magazines.
  • Delightful kitchen with bread oven feature, breakfast bar and 2 bar stools. Fully equipped to an excellent standard with an electric cooker, fridge, separate freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine, toaster, kettle etc..
  • Ground floor bathroom with modern shower unit, bathroom sink unit and toilet.

First Floor 

Staircase leading from the lounge/dining area to 2 spacious double bedrooms and 1 twin.

  • Bedroom 1: Master bedroom - King-sized double bed (1m.60), furnished with a large wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
  • Bedroom 2:  King-sized double bed (1m.60) furnished with a chest of drawers and hanging clothes rail.
  • Bedroom 3: Twin beds and furnished with a chest of drawers and hanging clothes rail.
  • Good sized bathroom with bath, sink unit and toilet.

Within the Grounds 

Fabulous secluded, enclosed garden with attractive patio area (access from the kitchen) equipped with a wooden garden table, benches and  BBQ.

The garden is very pleasant with a variety of trees and flowering shrubs, very safe for children to play in and is equipped with a garden swing seat and sunloungers. 

There is a large gravel courtyard at the front of the property with ample parking space.

About Langourla in Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany

All immediate needs are found a short distace away in the local picturesque village of Langourla: Boulangerie, épicerie (village shop) and 3 Bars.

Further a field you have Collinée 10 km and Merdrignac 12 km. These local towns provide supermarkets and a wide variety of shops, restaurants, banks, pharmacie, news agents etc.

A very short distance from the property you have the Chaos, which is a beauty spot of "mini rapids". The very quiet lanes and tracks are ideal for exploring, walking, riding and cycling. In the local village there is a beautiful lake with fishing available and an open air theatre and playground. In the month of August an International jazz festival takes place in the theatre.

The stunning Emerald Coast at Pléneuf Val Andrée is approximately 40 min from the property, known for its magnificent golden sandy beaches and delightful small bays. Further a field Sable D'Or and the beautiful fishing port of Erquy renowned for their excellent seafood restaurants, sandy beaches and safe swimming.

There are many lakes in the area offering fishing, boating and bird watching. There are golf courses and many other leisure activities both for children and adults including tree top trails and historical attractions such as chateau's and not forgetting our wonderful tourist towns of St Malo, Dinan and Dinard.

La Chouette is within very easy reach of the beautiful ancient walled town of St Malo (1 hr) with its attractive narrow winding cobbled streets and hosts of wonderful restaurants. 

Even closer is the elegant Edwardian seaside resort of Dinard (50 min) with lovely fine sandy beaches, children’s beach club and a choice of many water sports, this is also popular for its designer shops and the bustling nightlife at the Casino.

Explore at your leisure the charming quaint town of Dinan (40 min) with picturesque buildings, a medieval castle and the ramparts. Dinan boosts a superb market every Thursday morning and the stunning port of Dinan is definitely worth a visit.

Other attractions include the velo (bike) rail at Medreac, zoo's with added activities found at Bourbonsais, Cobac fun park as well as many others along with eco museums and museums including a Musée de Resistance at Malestroit.

Other places of interest are Jugon Les Lacs, Chateau Hunaudaye, Josselin, Pontivity, Foret de Brocielande and Broons.

Additional price information

  • Payment in sterling or euros by either bank transfer or cheque. Euro cheques must be made payable in Paris.
  • A 30% deposit is required to secure your booking. The remaining balance and the security deposit are payable 4 weeks before the start of the rental period. Bookings made within 4 weeks of the start of the rental period require full payment at the time of booking.
  • Change overs are from Saturday 16 hrs / Saturday 10 hrs in the high season period, however this can be altered in low and middle season.
  • During cold spells (from October to April), guests will be accountable for the electricity they consume at local tariff rates.
  • Long Winter lets (minimum 1 month) available at very reasonable rates, from early November 2012 to February 2013 please contact us for further details.

Provided at no extra charge:

  • Bed linen, towels and tea towels
  • A welcome pack
  • A starter pack: containing all basic provisions such as: tea, coffee, sugar, milk, olive oil, washing machine & dishwasher tablets, soap, toilet rolls ....
