A beautifully restored Maison de Maitre set in lovely grounds near the town of Salvagnac in the picturesque Tarn.

Holiday Accommodation at Maison Tempest

This is a house where people come to relax and clear their heads yet it's also a house to entertain in. The elegant mix of French antiques, chandeliers and modern technology allow all ages within the family to enjoy themselves.

Accommodation comprises:

• A stunning 90sqm kitchen/dining area with sofa seating.
• A ground floor bedroom with en-suite shower means an elderly relative can come too.
• Three bedrooms have luxury ensuite bathrooms
• A fourth bedroom can become ensuite or shared.

Outside

The house is set in its own large garden of about two acres, and is surrounded by fields often filled with sunflowers. A place to sit and read or chat with friends or just to fall asleep on a warm afternoon.

About Salvagnac in Tarn, Midi Pyrenees

For history lovers, St Angel is close to the ancient hill villages of Puycelsi and Cordes-sur-Ciel. First sight of these hill villages is awe inspiring and one can only begin to imagine how ancient people were able to defend themselves from invaders with such spectacular views.

For those who want to venture further afield it is a two hour drive to Carcassone or Rocamadour and three hours to the last remaining sites of the Cathars at Montsegur and Queribus.

For wine lovers, St Angel is close to many award winning vineyards. At the nearby town of Gaillac, the annual wine festival is a must. This fun event usually takes place the first weekend in August. However, if you miss it, most vineyards offer wine tasting and some offer a food and wine evening.

For art lovers, there are plenty of museums in the city of Toulouse, an hours drive away. Many of the best museums in Toulouse are housed in famous buildings like the Musee St. Raymond and the Musee Labit. In Albi, just thirty minutes drive, is the famouse Toulouse-Lautrec museum, which stands adjacent to the stunning cathedral of St. Cecile, renowned for the religious art covering its interior walls. The most interesting of all this decoration is the huge mural of 'The Last Judgement'. It is considered to be one of the most important works of art of the Late Middle Ages.

For food lovers, there are many bars, cafes and restaurants serving local and international cuisine. Each village in the region has a summer fete where you can eat, drink and dance the evening away. Nearby Rabastens and Lisle-sur-Tarn have a farmers market at the weekends, which have become social events as well.

How To Get To Salvagnac in Tarn, South West France

From the Channel

You can travel either via Paris or via Boulogne.

Via Paris - take the A16 then A1 to Paris, the following all the signs to Bordeaux onto the A10. Merge (slight right) onto the A71 and at Vierzon merge onto the A20. Follow the A20 in the direction of Limoges/Toulouse until junction 63, Montauban. Take the D999 in the direction of Gaillac/ALBI. Follow this road for about 30kms and the turning to St Angel is on the right. The house is on the right had side off this road.

Via Boulonge - take the A26 to Boulogne. Then follow signs to Rouen, then Chartres and join the A10 at Orleans.  From there merge onto the A71 and at Vierzon take the A20 towards Limoges/Toulouse. Then follow directions above.

From Toulouse Airport

Leaving the airport follow the directions towards Albi, which will bring you onto the A68 motorway. Leave this motorway at junction 9, Gaillac and follow all the signs to Montauban. This will take you onto the D999 which you follow for about 20 minutes. After you pass the road leading to Salvagnac the road bends to the right. On the left had side of the bend is the turning to St. Angel. Take this road to St Angel and the house is on the right.
