Large Charentais Gite With Private Pool and Garden in Beautiful Countryside

Beautiful stone house in a very tranquil and peaceful setting. Extremely well equipped with its own private swimming pool and enclosed garden. A huge courtyard for parking of one, two or several vehicles.

The gite is extremely well equipped in regard to appliances, comfortable furniture and high quality bed linen.

Holiday Accommodation at Large Charantais Gite With Private Pool & Garden

Set within the beautifully scenic region of the Charente and close to the Dordogne, this lovely stone house is set in the owners grounds. Guests have sole use of the gite pool and gardens and large courtyard.

• It has a large open-plan living/dining room and a large well equipped kitchen. A wood-burner and exposed beams add a very countrified look to the interior.
• This carefully restored stone house keeps cool in the warmer months and has a stunning covered stone barbecue attached to the barn (see photo) and lots of space - perfect for dining outdoors.
• There is one double bedroom with a king size bed, one twin room with 2 single beds and 1 double and 1 single bed on the mezzanine floor.
• The private swimming pool (9 x 4 metres, depth 0.8mtrs to 1.8mtrs) is situated at the rear of the gite and is fully enclosed, gated and complies fully with French pool safety regulations. Sun loungers and cushions (washable) are also provided.
• A thermostatically controlled and very effective fuel oil central heating is installed for the colder months and a wood-burner is also installed. (Fuel, oil and wood are provided at cost) on a pay for what you consume basis.
• Satellite TV (English Channels), DVD player, many books/novels and board games.
• High quality linen/bedding and towels are provided. (Pool towels are not provided).

About Marthon in Charente, Poitou Charentes

The property is surrounded by fields and woodland and is very peaceful, with hardly any traffic at all. There are lots of activities nearby and plenty of interesting places to visit. We have several good restaurants within 15 kilometres of the property. There are several towns close by that have traditional markets where local seasonal fresh produce is available.

How To Get To Marthon in Charente, South West France

Finding the property is fairly easy, even though we are situated approximately 2 kilometres from Marthon.

Marthon is situated in the Charente (Department 16). Angouleme is the nearest City and is 23 kiometres north west of Marthon.

• The nearest airport is Angouleme, however, flights to and from UK to Angouleme are yet to be scheduled. Limoges is a well established route for flights to and from the UK.
• By rail Angouleme is on the TGV route from Paris-Bordeaux.
