3 Luxury Gites with Sole Use Pool on Canal du Midi

Les Petites Ecuries offers 3 fully equipped, self catered, independent gites that each sleeps 4 people. Located in the middle of a lovely little French village, Marseillette, that runs along side the Canal du Midi and overlooks the Aurlac mountains and is 20 minutes away from the city of Carcassonne (and the walled city).

Tango sits in what used to be the orchard of Les Petites Ecuries (The Small Stables) on the banks of the Canal du Midi. While the horses have long gone,Tango (named after one of the horses) is set in a private garden with a sole use salt water pool (13 x 7 meters).

Bijou and Pon Pon also named after the horses, shares a pool (13m x 7m). They both have there own front and back patio areas, with the front patios overlooking the pool area and back patios overlooking the garden and Canal. 

The property is in a UNESCO world heritage zone and the gites have been newly developed by converting the old stables.

For those wishing to cycle we have a vast range of bikes for all the family including a follow on bike (great for the youngsters).

About Marseillette in Aude, Languedoc Roussillon

Marseillette is on the D610 and is a little village between Trebes and Olanzac.

Set on the border of the Corbieres & Minervois wine regions, it’s just 15 minutes from the Medieval Cite de Carcassonne and 45 minutes from the Mediterranean beaches.

Its central location from Toulouse, Beziers, Narbonne and Limoux makes it the perfect holiday base for exploring the stunning region of Languedoc. There is a bakery in the village that also sells some provisions, perfect for hot bread and pastries in the morning and basic food provisions.

Within a few minutes walk you'll find a friendly terrace bar serving drinks and basic lunches and a nice hotel restaurant serving more gourmet lunches and dinners. A mobile pizza van also stops in the village twice a week. In the nearby town of Trebes, an 8 minute drive away, you will find a good choice of bars and restaurants and all amenities including 3 supermarkets, chemist, doctors, banks and a tourist info office.

How To Get To Marseillette in Aude, South of France and the Riviera

There are several airports which you could use to get here with Carcassonne being the nearest. You could also use Toulouse, Montpellier or Perpignan, which are all being an hour away.

A car is essential for getting around.

My wife and I stayed for 3 or 4 days in late September 2011allowing us easy access to the historic town of Carcassonne. The gite is well appointed, comfortable for the two of us  (but probably also for 4 by utilising the second bedroom). The gite and its adjacent substantial swimming pool are secluded as are the surrounding grounds.

Great location for lovely walks along the canal to nearby Trebes the unit was also nice and secluded offering lots of privacy with a really good pool to swim in. Beziere and the beaches only 30 mins away and Carcassonne and airport only 15 mins. We will be back

 We really enjoyed our stay at tango with 2 children aged 8 and 2 there was lots to keep them occupied. The youngest loved the swing and slide while the oldest the trampoline and running around the garden playing football with dad so me (mum) got time to relax to. 

It was lovely relaxing by the pool while the children splashing around. Andrew and carol supplied us with a light lunch on the day we arrived which was great as we didn't have to go shopping immediate after our journey.lots to see and do in and around Carcassonne, beautiful part of the world and we will certainly return.

Thank you Andrew and carol for a great holiday, wonderful hosts.

Lettings are flexible to accommodate the various flight options. Prices stated are per property per week but we do try to be flexible with arrival and departure dates. Open 365 days of the year.

Long weekends are also available at quieter times of the year, please discuss with the owners, as are weekend bookings are available.

Once availability has been confirmed a provisional booking will be made and a booking email sent to you for completion.

To secure your booking we will need this email completed and returned with your 25% deposit. Dont worry we give you loads of time to arrange flights etc.
