Rustic Stone Cottage in South West France - Self Catering or with Meals

Nowhere can the heart of France be better found and enjoyed than here in Quercy and particularly at La Cachette, which, appropriately translates as "hideaway".

La Cachette is not grand...it has all the creature comforts but still maintains its rustic charm. The surrounding gardens sparkle with colour and the views up and down the valley soothe in their beauty. Farmers markets are found every morning in the villages, vineyards open their vats for tasting and when not soaking up the atmosphere of France profund there are cultural sights to visit and sports activities to tire in. But best of all is lazying around the cottage in the gardens or hitting a golf ball on the property's private course all before relishing a gourmet dinner either prepared by you or catered (Thai and French cuisine) by the chef next door.

Holiday Accommodation at La Cachette

This self-contained single storey stone cottage is positioned on 40 acres of farmland delivering superb views of the rolling countryside. The cottage has been fully renovated while keeping its original rustic charm. Comfortably accommodating 2 to 4 people, it comprises:

  • Two double bedrooms each with queen-size double beds.
  • A huge rustic kitchen with large windows looking onto the garden
  • Dining area with seating for up to 6 people
  • A bathroom with full bath and separate shower.

About Vazerac in Tarn-et-Garonne, Midi Pyrenees

In the most charming region of France the property is situated among the rolling hills of Quercy. The broad vistas seen from the cottage open out onto small farms.

Dotted around and never far away are villages servicing the farming community and the larger market towns of Cahors, Caussade and Montauban are but 30 minutes away.

The once fortified hill towns of Lauzerte and Cordes sur Ciel, the architectual splendour of Moissac, the geographic splendour of the Gorges d'Aveyron, the imposing river sentinel of St Cirq Lapopie, and the bastide towns are just a few ot the nearby atractions.

Restaurants and ferme auberges offer regional specialties but you may want to try dining at a village community fete, weekend events that occur throughout the summer. For serious nightlife though, one must go to Toulouse or Agen, 90 minutes away.

How To Get To Vazerac in Tarn-et-Garonne, South West France

We are located halfway between Bordeaux and Toulouse. Toulouse airport, Blagnac is 75 minutes by car; Bergerac airport serviced by Ryanair is two hours by car.

The train from Paris takes about five hours to reach Cahors and/or Montauban - either town is 35 minutes from the cottage.

By car the A20 autoroute from Paris  to Cahors takes 5  hours, the A62 autoroute from Bordeaux or Toulouse takes about 90 minutes to Montauban.

The cottage is on 40 acres of farmland. Around the house are gardens with magnificent flowers. The rest of the land is mostly used as a private nine-hole golf course - very rough but good for practicing and exercise.
