A holiday at Près De La Forêt is an ideal way to experience la vie francaise - village life in a typical French country village.

Our house is a comfortable family home with private gardens back and front, 3 bedrooms and plenty of living space. There’s direct access to a balcony from the kitchen, living room and main bedroom. This is the place to breakfast outdoors or loaf peacefully with a book.

A short walk will take you to the bakery for a baguette or some croissants, to the cafe for an aperitif at noon, or you could stroll to the excellent village restaurant for a superb dinner. Of course, you could always stay in and take advantage of the fully equipped kitchen, with microwave, electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and fridge.

There’s lots to see and do locally, too. Explore the famous “7 Valleys” with their clear streams and pretty hamlets, visit famous battlefields, browse the stalls in the local market, walk the ramparts of a medieval fortified town, buy fish on the quayside direct from the boat...

Holiday Accommodation at Pres De La Forêt

Près De La Forêt is a detached house with secluded gardens at the front and back and private off-road parking. A roomy interior provides family accommodation all on one level, including:

• A living room with comfortable seating, UK satellite TV, video, DVD and CD players, and a dining table with chairs for 6.
• The separate kitchen is fully-equipped with microwave, electric hob and cooker, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and fridge.
• Three bedrooms, two are double and one single. A cot is available, so the house can comfortably sleep 5 plus a baby.
• Family bathroom
• Separate toilet

Outside

The main bedroom, living room and kitchen, all have direct access to a balcony which runs the length of the back of the house and overlooks the private garden. A garden table and chairs for 6, as well as a parasol, make this a relaxing and peaceful place for outdoor dining – or just loafing during the day with a book and a glass of wine. From here you can reach the garden by way of safety-gated (top & bottom) steps, so that children can play on the lawn while remaining under parental supervision from the balcony and all the main rooms.

About Huby St Leu in Pas-de-Calais, Nord Pas de Calais

Près De La Forêt is situated in the Pas De Calais, the French département nearest to Britain, often overlooked by British tourists passing through on the motorways. It is one of the most unspoiled and attractive parts of France, linked to Britain by centuries of history.  

Huby Saint Leu, is a charming village on the outskirts of the market town of Hesdin. The village has its own bakery, two small bars and popular restaurant. From the house it’s just 5 minutes on foot to the national forest, where you can walk or bike ride have a picnic and take in the scenery.

Hesdin town centre is only a 15 minute walk/2 minute drive. There are lots of lively cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. On Thursdays there is a market which sells everything from live poultry to watercress!

A few miles away lies the equally historic town of Montreuil sur Mer. Its perfectly preserved fortifications and defensive ramparts now shelter its antique shops, art galleries, cobbled streets and picturesque houses.

About half an hour's drive brings you to the unspoilt Opal Coast of the Pas De Calais. The endless beaches of Berck, Merlimont, Stella Plage and Le Touquet with their sands and dunes are perfect playgrounds for families and children, and the small coastal resorts are full of good restaurants.

How To Get To Huby St Leu in Pas-de-Calais, North East France

One hour from Calais or the Channel Tunnel via the A16 motorway. 90 minutes from Dunkerque via the A26 motorway. The house is within 10 minutes walk of the railway station at Hesdin from where trains to Arras connect with services to all major French and European cities.
