Approached by a private tree-lined drive, this large stone former Maison de Maitre has been fully renovated to provide spacious, stylish accommodation for up to 10 people in total comfort.
Set in its own private 2 acred wooded park, the property is full of original features with high beamed ceilings, large rooms and a winding staircase. Accommodation includes:
- 6 bedrooms with quality linen and furnishings. All rooms are spacious, airy and some have antique french furniture. Comfortable matresses, quality bedding & pillows.
- 3 bath and shower rooms, all finished to high standard with fluffy towels supplied.
- Large farmhouse kitchen fully equipped with all appliances and range cooker plus family-sized fridge freezer. Separate utility room with washing machine and drying area.
- Open plan living/dining area with sumptuous leather sofas and cosy log fire, leading to :
- Conservatory, ideal for dining and relaxing, which opens to large 2 acre wooded grounds. UK TV, Wifi & music supplied.
Outside
There is a large (12m x 6m) private pool with poolside dining, shady areas, plenty of sunbeds and a barbeque area near the pool.

About Mirepoix in Aude, Languedoc Roussillon
Perfectly located on the Aude/Ariege border with the coast and mountains both within 1hr and yet only 2 minutes drive from the medieval cite of Mirepoix for monday market, festivals, resturants etc.and just 30 minutes easy drive from the world heritage cite of Carcassonne. The majestic Pyrenees can be seen from the property and form a backdrop to the area for sports, walks and tourism. The Cathar region for history and sites e.g Montsegur. Vineyards of Limoux nearby for wine lovers. Great gastronomic region (duck, foie gras and cassoulet). The world famous Canal du Midi is also closeby for boat trips and bike rides. The Tour de France passes through the region mid July.
15 minutes drive from Lac Montbel with beach for sailing, swimming, bike-hire, horse riding and walking.
25 - 45 minutes from Pyrenees ski-stations, Monts d'Olmes, Montsegur, Cathar country and mountains.
Toulouse, Andorra and Mediterranean Coast accessible for days out.

It's hard to do the charm of this wonderful farmhouse and the warm and experienced welcome of the owners justice!
The rustic charm of the farmhouse does not compromise on the expectations of comfort from the most wide ranging of family or guest needs. Should you discover that there is anything missing from your holiday wish list then your hosts will go to great lengths to accommodate. We spent an idyllic 2 weeks here participating in the medieval festivities of Mirepoix, sampling some of the regional dishes and enjoying the local countryside. My daughter hasn't stopped asking when we can move to France to live there!
