Renovated Farmhouse with Private Pool in the Foothills of the Pyrennees
This beautifully renovated farmhouse with private pool is an ideal holiday destination for easy access to all aspects of the Ariege region.
Set in the tranquil hamlet of Le Py d'en bas, Les Pujols, in the foothills of the Pyrenees, located halfway between the Medieval market town of Mirepoix and Pamiers. The property is lcoated close to local amenities and major road networks.
Holiday Accommodation at 13 Place du Py d'en bas
The house is spacious, warm and cosy in the winter, cool in the summer, fully equipped with all mod cons and tastefully decorated throughout. As well as wireless broadband connection there is an extensive library of books and DVD's, as well as 2 living rooms both with TV's and DVD players there is also a Ninetendo Wii and Wii fit board.
The main living room boasts 3 big sofas as well as a dining table for 10 people, plus a newly fitted kitchen with all mod cons and utentils for that all important cooking of the local cuisine using all the available local ingredients. There are three floors to this well appointed house, so plenty of room to spread out.
This property has more of a homely feel rather than a holiday let feel exposing alot of the character of the old building as well as it being modernised sympathetically.
About Ludies in Ariège, Midi Pyrenees
Mirepoix is famous for its quirky town square and the remarkable Cathedrale Saint-Maurice, work on which was started in 1343 and took over 500 years to complete. This colourful little town boasts an impressive collection of quality restaurants, bars, cafes, shops and a lively market on Monday with fantastic local artisan produce.
The nearby town of Foix, the capital of the Ariege, lies in the foothills of the Pyrenees and is known for its impressive fortified Chateau des Comtes and beautiful location. The old quarter of the town is woven with narrow, winding backstreets and half-timbered houses. Foix also has a local market on Fridays.
Pamiers has a number of good restaurants and bars, plus good facilities such as a large outdoor/indoor public swimming pool and a good commercial centre for all your shopping needs. As well as two markets a week on Wednesday and Saturday mornings.
Carcassonne, the heart of the Cathar country, with its fortified city, 12th and 13th century castles and early Gallo-roman ramparts, is well worth a visit. The double perimeter walls run around the city and incorporate 56 towers that command unique views over the wine-growing plain of the River Aude.
Narbonne beach is apporx. 90 mins. away and supports a wonderful sandy long beach and a busy seaside town with which comes plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops etc. As well as many other interesting towns, chateau's and vineyards that you can visit along the way.

The house is just an hour away from Toulouse Blagnac airport, the cosmopolitan centre of Southern France and international airport. Carcassonne airport is 45 minutes, with its regular Ryan Air flights.
