At La Chataigneraie we have a swimming pool (11m x 4m), a small, well-equipped gym, a floodlit boules court and extensive gardens with lawned areas large enough for family raquet games/rounders etc.  We also have a games room with table football, library and good selection of board games.  Our large guests' lounge has a 42" television with english channels and a superb 5m screen to watch films in surround-sound cinema style!

The area is a paradise for mountain bikers, with several graded and well-marked tracks passing right by our front door. We have 6 good quality entry-level XC mountain bikes for hire (along with 2 other bikes for guests to use free of charge). For walkers there are over 250km or marked trails in the area. Regular 4x4 jeep trips depart from nearby Vernet to take you up to the Chalet de Cortalets, to climb to the summit of Mount Canigou, the highest peak in the area.

There is a huge range of activities available nearby including gorge-walking, canyonning, aerial adventure parks, kayaking, white water rafting, paragliding and windsurfing.

Golf is available at the famous sports resort of Font Romeu (9 holes) or the beautiful courses between the sea and the Canigou at St Cyprien (9 & 18 holes).

We are just 40 minutes from the excellent ski resorts of Font Romeu and Pyrenees 2000.
