Built on a hillside with panoramic views, this superb villa is conveniently situated at the edge of medieval Uzès. With enclosed gardens, a walled private swimming pool and air-conditioning, the villa sleeps a maximum of 8 people in 4 bedrooms.

The villa has its main entrance and principal living accommodation on the first floor to take advantage of the exceptional views.

On the first floor:

• Big bright sitting room with balcony accessed via 2 sets of French windows. Wood burning stove, HiFi, UK Satellite TV. Telephone & wifi internet connection
• Dining area with table seating 8 people.
• Pretty provencal-style kitchen with gas hob & electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine, toaster & dishwasher.
• Balcony on 2 sides of the first floor with panoramic views of Uzes and the surrounding countryside. Drinks table & chairs.
• Master bedroom with king-size bed & en-suite bathroom.
• Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room (shower, toilet & washbasin)

At ground floor level:

• Large bedroom with twin beds. French windows onto the pool side (there is a security gate between the doors and the pool).
• Library with a good selection of books in English and games, drinks fridge & storage cupboard for poolside cups & plates.
• 4th bedroom with twin beds. The twin beds may be moved through to the other bedroom if required.

These lower floor bedrooms share

• A shower room with toilet, basin and shower cubicle. Heated towel rail.
• Utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer and additional freezer.

Outside

• Secure walled garden.
• Drive with parking for several cars
• Pretty garden laid to lawn. Floodlights may be turned on at night.
• Attractive swimming pool (approx. 10m x 5m), fully enclosed with a wall & fence
• Table tennis table

About Uzes in Gard, Languedoc Roussillon

The villa is situated on the edge of the medieval town of Uzès, first duché of France. Steeped in history, the town has a lively atmosphere throughout the year. The town centre is an easy 15 minute walk from the villa where you will find a large choice of shops, restaurants & bars. Closer to the villa are a bakery, small supermarket and a pizza restaurant. 

The impressive Roman Pont du Gard is a short drive from the town. Further afield are the towns of Nimes, Avignon, Arles and Orange, Montpellier, the Camargues world heritage site with its flamingos, bulls and white horses and also the soft white sand of the Mediterranean beaches.

Kayaking on the Gardon and river bathing are popular summer activities. Bike hire available.

How To Get To Uzes in Gard, South of France and the Riviera

There are many travel options to this area. Local airports include Nimes (50 minutes), Montpellier (60 minutes), Avignon (60 minutes), Marseille (90 minutes) and Beziers (90 minutes).

Eurostar comes to Avignon direct on Saturdays and via Lille TGV the rest of the week.

To drive from the UK using the toll motorways takes approximately 12 hours from Calais with appropriate rest breaks.
