18th Century Barn Conversion, Surrounded with Views of Sunflowers and Vines

Sunflower Gites are traditional french cottages, set in the heart of the Charentes-Maritime region of France. Run by a family from North Yorkshire you will be sure to have a warm and friendy welcome.

Surrounded with views of sunflowers and vines and set in the countryside, each property has its own patio with shared heated pool and large open area in which to play in. The heated swimming pool is 9m x 14m with a 4m round paddling pool to one end, all surrounded with a safety fence.

Situated down a quiet country lane just 1km out of the centre of the village of Gemozac, with the beaches at Royan just a 20 minute drive away, the town of Cognac 40 minutes and the historic town of Saintes just 30 minutes away.

Holiday Accommodation at Soleil d'Or

Recently refurbished, Soleil d'Or is a 2 bedroom cottage and sleeps 5 people comfortably. Accommodation comprises:

  • Two large bedrooms: 1 double and 1 bedroom with 3 beds.
  • Large open plan kitchen/dining/living area: the fully equipped kitchen has electric cooker, dishwasher, microwave and fridge. The living area is open plan with TV, DVD player and CD player.
  • Bathroom

Cot, highchair and buggy can be provided upon request.

About Gemozac in Charente-Maritime, Poitou Charentes

In the village there is a municipal pool and tennis courts. During the summer there are several horse races. There are also 3 supermarkets, a pizza restaurant/takeaway, also several other restaurants and bars. The beaches at Royan are just a 20 minute drive away and stretch for over 40 km.

With the zoo at La Palmyre being one of many local attractions, along with the pineau!!! (Wine & cognac blended). The town of Cognac is just 40 minutes away where you can visit many of the world famous Cognac distilleries then taste their wares. Saintes is 30 minutes away and is seeped in roman history with its amphitheatre.

How To Get To Gemozac in Charente-Maritime, South West France

The village of Gemozac is situated approximately 8km off the A10 at junction 36 and is also approximately 100km from both Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports.

There is a large 14m x 9m heated pool with roman steps. The depth of 1.2m is great for swimming and playing games. There is also a 4m splash pool just 30 cm deep for the toddlers, all fenced for safety and sunloungers to relax on.

We also have table tennis, swings, large garden to play ball games in, we also have bikes of all sizes available for you to use.

Each property has its own bbq and individual patio with patio furniture.

Additional price information

Weeks are Saturday to Saturday but in low season we may be able to be flexible on the start day. Also if you wish to stay for a long weekend or a mid week break we may be able to help, 3 nights minimum. Longer lets are available in winter and spring with prices negotiable. For mid week, weedend, Chistmas and Easter breaks please contact us for prices.

Departure time is 10.00am, arrival time no earlier than 4.00pm unless by prior arrangement.

There is a 25% deposit to be paid on booking (non refundable) and the remainder to be paid in full 8 weeks prior to arrival date.

Bed linen and towels are included in the price.

All the Cottages are NO SMOKING and pets are not allowed.
