Located in a sleepy hamlet, this 200 year old stone farmhouse with four bedrooms  and sleeps 10. Sympathetically restored with an abundance of oak beams and original wood and tiled flooring.

Perfectly situated in the middle of   stunning Normandie countryside with many famous landmarks, beautiful beaches and historic towns.  Activities such as swimming, cycling, horseriding, golfing, fishing, canoeing, childrens' playgrounds, (to name but a few),  all within short driving distances.  If you prefer somewhere to "chill out" or prefer the "get up and go" holiday, Maison de Chèvrefeuille is the base for you.

This delightful property comfortably accommodates 10 people and comprises:

Ground Floor

  • Kitchen with tiled floor.
  • Dining room with tiled floor, woodburner and french windows.
  • Spacious living room with tiled floors, woodburner with french windows.
  • Cloakroom/Utility room with WC

Staircase leading to:

  • "Loft room" comprising of one large double bed and two single beds, with ensuite shower room/hand basin and toilet.  

Separate staircase to a further three bedrooms.

  • Large master bedroom with original fireplace leading to:
  • A small bunk bedroom.
  • Third bedroom consists of one double bed with an additional single.
  • Bathroom comprises of a cast iron bath with over bath shower. Handbasin and toilet. Wooden floors and beams throughout.

About Torigni Sur Vire in Manche, Normandy

Located in a sleepy hamlet of Rouxeville, 2km from St Jean des Baisants (local amenities) and 7km from Torigini sur Vire (lakeside town) with fishing, boating, horseriding, resturants and a local Monday market.

The property is ideally located 11km from the historical town of St Lo (large town with all amenities) and fantastic swimming pool. 30km from Bayeaux famous for its tapestry, museums, beaches, golf courses, horseriding and local markets. 30 minutes drive to Villedieu les Poeles (museums, copperworks and zoos). Within an hours drive of the historic Mont St Michel and the cosmopolitan town of Granville. The bustling ancient city of Caen is just 30 minutes drive, with its museums and famous landmarks.

All the DDay Beaches are between 35/40 minutes drive.  Just right for the 60th Anniversary.

With 2014 being the year of  'Jeux Equestres Mondiaux' we are perfectly situated between all venues.  Haras du Pin approx 45 minutes.  Deauville 45 minutes and of course St Lo and Caen just down the road!

How To Get To Torigni Sur Vire in Manche, North West France

Dinard Airport is 1.5 hours drive to Maison de Chèvrefeuille.

From the Port of Ouistreham, Caen take the main road and signposts to Caen. After 8km and when you are on the open "freeway" take the ramp to 'Peripherie Quest/Cherbourg/Rennes/Hérouville-Quest'. Merge onto N814 for 6.3km then merge onto N814. Slight right to stay on N814. Take exit 9a Porte de Bretagne toward St Lo/Mont Saint Michel/Renne/Vire. Merge onto A84 Take exit 42 toward Vire/Jurques/Caumont-L'Eventé. At roundabout take third exit onto D675. At the next roundabout take the 1st exit onto D54. Turn left onto Rue Saint Martin D9. Slight right onto Route de Saint Lo/D71 continue to follow D71. Continue onto Les Grand Champs/D11 towards Rouxeville. Turn left on Le Carrefour aux Boeufs/D34. Continue to follow D34. After 800m turn right onto D190/ Village Mouffet. Maison de Chèvrefeuille can be seen on the right hand side. This journey takes about 45 minutes.

From Cherbourg the journey takes about 1.35 minutes. Follow the signs to St Lo/Torigini sur vire.  

The port of Quistream (Caen) is 45 minutes drive;

From Calais the journey takes about 3-4hours.

Additional price information

Oil central heating is charged at cost.

Wood is set aside for the woodburner.

On arrival we require  a refundable security deposit of 250 euros to ensure against any breakages. Before you leave we shall inspect the property and any damage shall be deducted.

The house should be left clean and tidy as you find it, if not, there will be a charge for cleaning  of 50 euros.
