Spacious Apartment near the River Seine

The apartment is in the 13th arrondissement (district) within a 5 minute walk of the Bibliotheque Nationale, the line 14 Metro, the RER C and the River Seine. Located on the edge of what Parisian's know as "the New Left Bank", the apartment is in a live-in section of the district surrounded be bakeries, pastry, cheese, fish, meat and wine shops, a variety of restaurants and various grocery stores. There is also a twice-weekly open-air market.

The "New Left Bank", initiated several years ago by the construction of the Bibliotheque Nationale on the Seine, includes a new university campus, a Cine Complex on the new ave de France, attractive shopping areas, floating restaurants on the Seine, the Simone de Beauvoir footbridge across the Seine to Parc Bercy and Bercy Village and, also on the Seine, the Josephine Baker swimming pool.

The apartment is also within easy walking distance of the Butte aux Cailles and Place d'Italie.
In addition to the line 14 Metro and the RER C, bus #27 stops across the street from the apartment.

Located in a six-apartment building overlooking, on one side, a treed courtyard, and, on the other side, a quiet one-way street, the apartment is 50 square metres and comprises:

  • Two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two twins)
  • A fully equipped kitchen with gas stove (hob)
  • A living-dining room with Wifi
  • A bathroom

In addition to wooden floors, high ceilings, and four large shuttered windows, all rooms have doors for privacy, four of which are partially glassed to improve the natural lighting.

About Butte aux Cailles in Paris, Ile de France

Located in a lived-in section of the 13th, described in a previous section, the apartment is located at 82 rue de Patay, near the intersection with rue Toliac, the street leading to the Seine and the Bibliotheque stop of the line 14 Metro and the RER C. The apartment provides one with the experience of living among Parisians surrounded by all the amenities of daily living coupled with easy access to the traditional tourist attractions.
 
The name "New Left Bank"is given to that part of the 13th which has many attractive features, some of  which are outlined in another section of this website, and are often unknown to the casual visitor to Paris. Being of the edge of the New Left Bank, within easy walking distance of the Butte aux Cailles, living among Parisians, a bakery across the street, a pastry shop next door, and Metro, RER and bus transportation to everywhere else, the apartment is ideally situated.

How To Get To Butte aux Cailles in Paris, Paris and surrounding area

There are airports at Charles de Gaulle airport and Paris Orly, and the Eurostar terminal is at the Gare de Nord.

The apartment is served by the Line 14 Metro, the RER C and the 27 bus and is close to the Gare de Lyon rail station. Central Paris and its visitor attractions are 5 minutes away via the metro.
