Holiday Gites on the Edge of a Forest

Right on the edge of the great forest of Berce (30 km south east of Le Mans), famous for its ancient oak trees, its animal life (stags, roe deer) and its many varieties of mushrooms, stands a group of 7 dwellings of unusual design.

The work of young creative architects, these buildings nestle into the ground and are surrounded by "walls of vegetation", blending them into the forest around them. They are set around a large swimming pool and a restored old forester's house.

All this is situated 1 kilometre from the centre of Jupilles, the little town made famous by its clog-makers. Nearby you can buy farm produce such as cheese and chicken and locally made crafts (wood, basketwork, leather). In the town you can obtain groceries, and there is a butcher shop, bakers and post office.

There is a large reception room which may be used for parties or receptions. Breakfast can also be taken here if ordered the day before. Everyday or end of stay cleaning service on request. Washing machine, pay phone available.

Holiday Accommodation at 6 person Gite

There are three 6 person gites, the accommodation in each consists of :

• Special design features: the use of raw materials (concrete, wood, iron etc) and simple, original fittings.
• Comfortable living room with an open fireplace, lit by immense bay windows in direct contact with outdoor life and nature.
• The functional kitchen area is fitted with electric hot-plates, a microwave oven, a refrigerator and a dishwasher.
• 3 bedrooms - with two single beds (80 x 200cm) in each
• Two shower rooms with separate WC's.
• The living room has its own adjoining patio with barbecue, garden furniture and parasol.
• Wooden storage shed attached to each dwelling for bicycles, provisions and other equipment.
