Your hosts Jocelyne and Dany welcome you to their enchanting Charentaise House with Gites and B&B.

The delightful two bedroom independent “Cottage” and one bedroom “Studio” are south facing and therefore, sunny all day. The property is situated in a very quiet rural hamlet near to St Jean D'Angély and just about one hour from the coastal towns of La Rochelle and Royan and half an hour from the towns of Cognac and Saintes.

The charming accommodations are all on the ground floor and are set within the enchanting gardens of the House and with their own private garden. The all fully equipped modern kitchen including washing machine, electric oven, gas hob, microwave, ironing board and iron. The lovingly cottages are set within a fully walled complex providing a safe setting – perfect for families. On site car parking is also available.

Octagonal heated Swimming Pool 10.5. x 5.5 metres. The pool enjoys the benefits of salt water filtration which is kinder to the skin and eyes than a chlorinated pool. What better way to relax than to enjoy a glass of local wine with a good book, basking in the sun around the pool!

The Charente Maritime sweeps down the west of France, with 300 miles of coastline, long sandy beaches, calm waters, scented pine woods and facilities for all kinds of aquatic sports.

A few kilometres inland and the Charente Maritime changes. Here it is a calm and peaceful region with 200 beautiful Romanesque churches, vines, markets, rivers and towns rich in art. Continuous good weather, and an exceptional amount of sun - comparable to the Mediterranean regions. 

A wonderful holiday awaits you all year round. A paradise for those searching for activities or just relaxation. We aim to ensure that your holiday with us will remain a pleasant memory for many years.

Interesting Places to Visit

• Cognac: 25 minutes. Beautiful town, park, markets. Martell, Hennessy, Remy, Otard, Camus Bisquet distilleries.
• St. Jean d'Angely: 15 minutes. Beautiful town, markets, fishing, park, pedalo's, canoe's, swimming pool.
• Saintes: 25 minutes. Roman town, markets, fishing, Saintes has conserved impressive traces of it's rich Gallo-Roman past, Roman Amphitheatre. Boat trips down the Charente.
• La Rochelle: 60 minutes. Good roads. Ancient walled town. Arcaded streets. Two towers overlooking the old port. Beach, Aquarium, sea food restaurants – wonderful ambience. Street buskers.
• Rochefort: 50 minutes. Old Naval town, rope works and museum. Reconstruction of the boat La Fayette. Lovely town square where you can watch time just go by.
• Royan: 60 minutes. Oyster country. Lots and lots of fish restaurants, beach and shops.
• Saint-Georges-de-Didonne: Beach open towards the ocean. Adorned with dunes and pine trees. Good for picnic's and ideal for children. This is 5 minutes from Royan.
• Jarnac: Boat trips up the Charente very nice. Also lots, lots more lake's, Chateaux and local produce.
