This charming 18th Century stone 'Longere' set in its own grounds of four acres has been professionally renovated to provide three attractive family gites. Each gite has a modern and roomy feel, without losing any of the charm and character created by the original beams and stonework.

The accommodation comprises:

Ground Floor

All the gites have large, open plan lounge/kitchen/dining areas with traditional exposed beams. The stone fireplaces have woodburners for those colder months. There is electric heating throughout. The lounge areas have couches which convert into a double bed for extra guests. There is mains electricity and water, with bottled gas for cooking. The kitchens are fully equipped and have fridges, gas cookers and microwave ovens. The gites have well equipped bathrooms with showers and bidets, and separate WC. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer.

First Floor

Sunflower: Two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds plus mezzanine with one double sofa bed and an extra double sofa bed in the living room.

Provision of cots, highchairs and bedlinen are available on request.

Outside

The gites are accessed by a long driveway, and there is plenty of room for parking. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer for general use. A games room including snooker table, dart board, table football and traditional French boules is provided to keep the "young at heart" members of the family amused. Bikes, barbecues and garden furniture are also provided.

Nature lovers will appreciate the nature reserve, which runs parallel to the bottom lane. On warm summer evenings, you can take a stroll, and invariably see a variety of wildlife, including beavers occupying the nature reserve's large pond and buzzards and marsh harriers circling above.

The gites are ideally suited to couples and families seeking the tranquility of Brittany's beautiful countryside, whilst having the benefit of many exciting and interesting attractions only a car ride away. There is something for all the family, whether it's sightseeing, cycling, walking, swimming, golfing or sailing.

La Salle is a secluded hamlet set amongst beautiful farmland and woods. The nearby village of Avessac (approximately 1 mile) with its Bakery, Grocers and Creperie provides a convenient pickup for those everyday items.

About the location

For history lovers, step back in time and explore the beautiful and historic city of Vannes. With medieval town walls surrounding its sensitively restored buildings, it makes for a wonderful sightseeing or shopping visit. Whilst there, why not visit the modern aquarium on the quayside, full of exotic creatures to delight and excite the whole family (approximately 40 minutes by car).

There are many historical towns dotted around the area. Josselin, Quimper, Concarneau and Pontivy are but a few, and all are well worth a visit with their impressive chateaux and historical buildings.

For those looking for the beach, whether a quiet secluded spot in which to relax, or the more Mediterranean feel found at La Baule. Brittany's beautiful coastline is easily accessible.

There is always the Zoological Park of Branfere (approx. 30 minutes) offering a wonderful day wandering around the spectacular grounds and admiring the abundance of animals living in freedom amid the botanical park.

For those visitors feeling a little more adventurous, why not hop on the TGV in Redon and head for Paris? (less than 3 hours by train).

The historic town of Redon is only a short drive away (approximately 5 miles) and boasts the 'Ville Fleurie' sign, meaning 'Flower Town' due to the abundance of flower troughs and baskets which adorn the town and its various canal locks in the summer months.

Redon is an interesting and friendly historic town, well worth a visit. From the union of land and water was born a seafaring port. The trade in salt, a vital commodity, considerably enriched the town. In the middle of the 19th Century the opening of the Nantes-Brest Canal gave Redon its new architectural waterways to the west. These days, the delightful canal pathways and waterways provide endless exploration for pleasure boats and cyclists alike.
