La Petite Maison in the Drome with Exclusive Pool

Reputedly an ancient priory, the property sits in a small valley with views up into the surrounding hills and the ruins of the old Condorcet chateau and village. These hills form the very beginning of the Alps and are covered in holm oaks and junipers with outcrops of rocks and tumbling streams. The multitudes of footpaths give rise to one splendid view after another. In Spring and early Summer the hills are full of wild flowers. The lower slopes are cultivated with apricots, cherries, lavender and, of course, grapes.

Holiday Accommodation at La Petite Maison

La Petite Maison is situated in the grounds of the owner's property in the hills east of Nyons, approximately 50kms south east of the Montelimar Sud exit from the A7 Autoroute. This "small house" sleeps 2 in a comfortable bed/sitting room with well equipped separate kitchen and shower-room. Good quality towels, bed linen are provided and duvets are provided. There is the full use of owner's swimming pool. There is a CD player/alarm clock and, for rainy days (should you be so unlucky), facilities for watching videos.

• Shower room with wash basin and WC.
• Living area with comfortable double bed, table, chairs, and double doors opening onto garden.
• Kitchen area is fully fitted with electric cooker, fridge, electric kettle and coffee maker. A microwave oven is available if required.
• Swimming Pool - unrestricted (and not shared) use of owner's pool. Please note that, given good weather late April and early May to facilitate annual maintenance and cleaning of pool and surrounding area, the pool is normally available for use from mid may onwards. However, if not, you are still most welcome to sunbathe by the pool. (Rental price for May is at low season rates).
• Water, gas and electricity are all inclusive.
• Entertainment - a selection of books, games and videos.

The garden area is attractively planted and there are plenty of shaded areas for sitting out. A free-standing barbecue is provided. The nightingales will sing you to sleep in May!

About Faucon in Drôme, Rhone Alps

The property is located in a river valley about 1km from the village of Condorcet, in fact towards St Pons which is not a through road. 

Being on the edge of the Alps, one can enjoy the contrast of the mountains with the vineyards of the Rhone valley to the west of Nyons.

It is a 15 minute walk to the village of Condorcet to the baker's shop, which also sells cheese, fruit, vegetables, papers etc. Nyons, a particularly nice small French town, has supermarkets, lots of little shops, a cinema, cafes to sit outside and watch the world go by and a good Provençal market on Thursday mornings.

There are numerous inexpensive restaurants in this locality. Avignon, Orange, Vaison-la-Romain are all within an hour's drive and slightly further afield are L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue with its wonderful Sunday market, Nimes and the Gorges of the Ardeche, the latter well worth a days visit. Eastwards, there is spectacular scenery towards the High Alps. It is possible to drive to the summit of Mont Ventoux.

This area offers a wonderful opportunity to sample a wide range of wines, from the simple and very local co-operative Cotes du Rhones , to the more upmarket wines like Gigondas, Sablet, Seguret and Chateauneuf de Pape.  Whatever your taste in wine, there will be a Cote du Rhone etc to suit your taste buds and pocket!

Marseilles is the nearest seaside resort.

How To Get To Faucon in Drôme, The Rhone Alps (SE France)

Nearest Airport is Nimes, 1 hr 40 mins from the property. Nearest railway station (TGV) is Avignon, just over 1 hr away. There are summer flights  from Southampton into Avignon local airport on Saturdays.
