  • Beautiful, spacious farmhouse with private pool in enclosed gardens in the peaceful village of Arcay, near Loudun, off a quiet road.
  • Bar and small shop is within a 5 minute walk.
  • Loudun, 5 minute drive, for weekly market, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
  • Chateaux of Montreuil Bellay, Chinon, Breze and Saumur for culture, Doue Zoo great for kids and Futroscope for hi tech fun.
  • Enclosed lawned walled gardens provide total privacy to enjoy the sun by the pool, or lie back in the hammock under the acacia tree for cool summer shade. The very spacious well-equipped interior has the charm of exposed beams and  large stone open fireplaces.
  • Swimming pool is 10m x 5m with 1 - 2m graduating depth and safely fenced off from the rest of the grounds and surrounded by terraces and lawn with sun loungers.
  • Games room with table tennis, darts and a drinks fridge.
  • Outdoor dining furniture and large BBQ

  • Kitchen - which is very spacious and well equipped with lots of dining space and the charm of the original stone fireplace and big windows overlooking the garden. There is a washing machine, dishwasher and microwave as well as ample kitchen equipment. There is also a high chair and child's table and chairs.
  • Sitting room - with original beams and stone fireplace has comfortable seating with three sofas. There is gas central heating and the open fire which can be used in winter. There is a telephone for incoming and emergency use, TV/DVD and ipod dock/CD player.
  • Bedroom 4 - has bunk beds and en-suite shower room with basin.
  • Separate toilet - is next to the bunk room.

One staircase leads off the kitchen to the bedrooms upstairs and another staircase is next to the bunk bedroom.

First Floor

All the bedrooms have beautiful beams and carpeted floors off a large landing linking the two staircases with views over the garden and pool.

  • Bedroom 1 - the Master bedroom, with a super king size bed, large antique wardrobe and travel style cot set up for use.
  • Bedroom 2 - double bedroom with standard double size bed.
  • Bedroom 3 - is at the end of the landing and is a twin bedroom with two single beds
  • Bathroom - is a large room with bath, separate shower, basin and toilet.

About Arcay in Vienne, Poitou Charentes

  • La Touche is off a quiet road in the village of Arcay, 5 minutes from Loudun.
  • Bar and small shop in the village. Daily bread deliveries to the house can be arranged by Lydie in her van! Visiting meat/fish van weekly in the village.
  • Loudun has a busy weekly market, supermarkets and a choice of restaurants/cafe's and bars.
  • Châteaux and historic sites of the Loire valley with Saumur, Breze,  Chinon and Fontevraud Abbey all within a 30 minute drive.
  • Futuroscope Theme Park is an easy 45 minute drive south.
  • Doue Zoo is a great day out for all the family, 30 minute drive.
  • La Rochelle coast is 2 hours drive.
  • Take your bikes/hire locally as area is great for cycling.

Location: Arcay (Mini shop, Bar) 7km SW of Loudun (shops, restaurants and all services), 16km E of Thouars (shops), 30km SW of Chinon (château), 30km S of Saumur.
