A couples Paradise. Tranquil, luxurious hide-a-way with a pool, beautiful gardens and no other guests!

The Old Bread Oven is a luxury, detached one bedroom gite, which sleeps 2 people and was originally a bake house and hayloft. It has been painstakingly converted to the highest standards, and so offers the best of both worlds - modern convenience with the charm of an old provincial cottage. If you are looking for a peaceful holiday, in a gite which is a cut above the rest, then the Old Bread Oven is for you.

There are no other gites, so you do not have the inconvenience of sharing with other holidaymakers or their children!  The only other people to use the pool would be the retired owners (who keep 2 very friendly dogs) and if visiting, their family. You can relax knowing that the English owners are close by. They are delighted to offer help, hints and tips on the area or if house hunting, to help get you started!  

The area is famous for its warm weather, beautiful scenery and long days filled with sunshine. At the Old Bread Oven you could spend your days relaxing by the pool and spend your nights experiencing the best cuisine, in quaint bistros and 'allo 'allo style auberges that can be found in the surrounding hamlets and villages. The attractions of Angouleme, Aubeterre, Riberac, Brantome, Bordeaux, Cognac and Perigueux are all within easy reach, making it an ideal location to explore from. (It is approximately 80 minutes drive from Bordeaux airport and 7 hours from St. Malo.)

About the location

It is ideally located, in a rural hamlet close to the town of Riberac. It offers a very peaceful holiday and yet has easy access to local amenities. Shops, restaurants, bars, banks and supermarkets are all within a 15 minute drive, but a car is essential.
