La Sittelle is a 1 bedroom cottage which sleeps 2 adults and is ideal for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing self-catering holiday. It is situated in a small, rural village in a quiet location.

The property is made of stone, typical to this area of France and has recently been renovated to a very high standard whilst still retaining its' character and charm. The cottage is in the grounds of the resident owners thatched cottage, yet is completely private with its own garden area.

The accommodation comprises:

• Sitting area with comfortable chairs and coffee table. T.V (french only) and video cassette player (will play English videos) there is also a fireplace, woodburning stove and DVD player.
• Kitchen/ diner consists of fitted kitchen, including electric hob, oven & grill there is also a fridge, microwave, kettle & toaster. All kitchen utensils and crockery. Table and chairs for eating.
• Bedroom with double bed, wardrobe, bedside tables with draws. Bed linen is provided and consists of a double duvet and cover, 4 pillows and pillow cases and a bedsheet.
• Shower room reached by open-tread stairs. Comprises shower cubicle, handbasin and WC.

 Outdoor table, chairs and barbecue are provided.

About the location

It is easily reached from the ports of Caen (approx 1½ hrs) or Cherbourg (approx 2½ hrs) and lies between the two large towns of Vire & Flers (15km) where a good selection of shops and restaurants can be found. The small, historic town of Tinchebray is only 3kms away where all amenities are catered for, including a supermarket, shops, banks etc.

For those who love nature, the area is abundant with all sorts of flora and fauna and birdwatchers can enjoy plentiful sightings of many different species. Explore the surrounding countryside and visit the famous sites of Le Mont St.Michel, Bayeaux and the Normandy beaches all within a short driving distance.

Alternatively, discover the hidden treasures of the picturesque 'suisse Normande' region with its quaint little villages, châteaux and beautiful scenery and for those of you looking for adventure, you will not have to go far to find bungee jumping, canoeing, hand-gliding, climbing, horse riding, cycling or hiking! For golfing couples there are two excellent golf courses nearby in Vire & Clecy. Stroll around the markets, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the local produce namely cider, Calvados brandy, pommeau, camembert and of course, great French wine.
