Modern Villa with Pool and Mountain View

The villa is situated in the delightful, small medieval French village of St Jean, which is one hour to the west of Montpellier. The two storey villa on a sloping site situated back from the corner of two quiet country roads has a magnificent view of the mountains. There are about twenty houses in the immediate area (the nearest house being ten metres away).

On the same level as the villa is a 8 x 4 m private pool which varies in depth from 1 to 1.8 metres, is available from mid May to the end of September and is maintained weekly. There are chairs and tables on the terrace overlooking the pool which is shaded from view by a fence and a hedge. The pool house has a shower and a WC.

There is a  garden of 1000m², with two olive trees and a cherry tree, to the south and east of the house.

  • Living room/dining area/kitchen with a high ceiling and fireplace. Comfortably furnished with a sofa, three armchairs, two rocking chairs and dining furniture. CD/DVD player. Patio doors with a superb view of Saint Jean. Well equipped fitted kitchen with microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, toaster, crockery, cutlery, glasses etc (but no dishwasher). Washing machine, ironing board and iron and vacuum cleaner in utility room
  • Bedroom 1 - with en suite bathroom and double bed
  • Bedroom 2 - with double bed
  • Bedroom 3 - with two single beds
  • Second bathroom

About Arboras in Hérault, Languedoc Roussillon

The small cities of Clermont-L'Herault and Lodeve, which have restaurants, museums, supermarkets and sports facilities, are both less than half an hour's drive away.

The house is just outside the medieval village, a five minute walk from the village square on which are located the cafe, the post office and the wine and olive co-operative. The bakery/general store which sells delicious bread and patisseries is just off the square.

The Languedoc region is one of the unspoiled areas of France. Situated between the mountains of the Causses de Larzac and the Mediterranean sea, it is a land of vineyards and olive groves, of wild irises in April and flowering lavender in July. It has the cultural treasures of medieval churches (Saint Jean's is Romanesque) and abbeys, geological wonders like the Cirque de Navacelles and abundant cultural and leisure facilities. In Saint Jean you will have the opportunity to be as strenuously active or delightfully idle as you wish.

  • Christmas, New Year and Easter are an additonal £100 per week.
  • £50 reduction on bookings of two weeks or more for the second and subsequent weeks.
  • Telephone, electric cooking and heating, mains water and mains drainage (electricity is included in the price from May to September but charged separately, according to the metre reading, at all other times)
  • Available for long winter lets
  • Cleaning, including final cleaning, is the sole responsibility of guests.
  • Unfortunately, no pets are allowed (sorry but some people are allergic to them).
  • Sheets, pillow cases and bath and beach towels must be brought by guests.
