"La Vieille Ferme" is an authentic savoyard farmhouse, originally built in 1860, beautifully restored and modernised to add comfort to it's natural charm and warmth. Situated overlooking the spa village of St. Gervais, there is a stunning view of the Mont Blanc and the Chaine des Fizz.

St. Gervais forms part of the 'Evasion Mont Blanc' ski area, 450 kms of pistes on the one pass. Excellent for all levels of skiers and boarders, plus lots of very easy, safe, off-piste and tree skiing. We are ONLY 50 MINUTES transfer time from Geneva Airport! Have the pistes to yourselves out of high season!

Your hosts

Jeremy and Marie own 'La Vieille Ferme' and live here all year round. "We are immensely proud of our home and incredibly enthusiastic about the Mont Blanc region in which we live. We consider ourselves immensely priviledged to spend our lives in this area of oustanding natural beauty, and to be able to take advantage of many of the sporting activities that go with the mountains. Our aim is simple: to impart our love of the mountains with our guests, to try and pass on what we feel, and to share the comfort, good food and relaxed atmosphere of our wonderful home."

Marie is French and Jeremy English, (although he has been living in France for a long time). Before they bought 'La Vieille Ferme' in 2000, they had been coming to this area on holiday every year, winter and summer, for a long time, (and in Marie's case since she was a child). A nurse by vocation, Marie is an excellent cook and expert skier. Jeremy is a very keen skier, an enthusiastic photographer and keen walker, but who also likes the challenge of new sports- most recently paragliding and mountain biking.

The farmhouse sleeps up to 14 guests in 5 bedrooms with various combinations of:

• Double rooms.
• Twin rooms.
• Two family rooms that will sleep parents and two to three children.
• Four guest bathrooms
• Dining room with a wood burning stove which is overlooked by two cosy mezzanines where one can relax with a book from our library or listen to music.
• Lounge which is large and attractive, looks out on the Mont Blanc and the Domes du Miage.
• Television room with satellite TV and a large selection of videos.

About the location

La Vieille Ferme overlooks the spa village of St Gervais and has breathtaking views of the Mont Blanc, (the summit of which is in the commune of St Gervais).The village has a small but excellent range of restaurants, from the good value 'L’Eterle' ( a lot more than just a simple pizzeria), through to the very fine 'Sérac.  Le Galeta and Le Robinson serve a variety of local specialities, while in St Nicholas, 'Le Coin du Feu', is well worth the detour. There is a good variety of bars, with The NPA and the Yucatan both very popular with the late-stop-out crowd because of their atmosphere and live music. St Gervais is a very pretty, still very French, living mountain village; there are a wide variety of shops and the Thursday morning market in the square is very popular.

Access:
8 kms from the end of the A40 autoroute, approx. 8 hour drive from Calais
50 minutes transfer from Geneva airport.

How to get here

By plane - We can pick you up from Geneva airport. Low cost airlines provide flights from all over the UK.

By train - You can catch a Eurostar from Waterloo to Lille and connect with the overnight sleeper to St. Gervais/Le Fayet. We, of course, will come and pick you up from the station.

By car - The "Autoroute Blanche" ends at St. Gervais/Le Fayet, so from Calais, it is motorway all the way (approximately 8 hours drive).
