Charming Chateau with Heated Pool and Private Tennis Court

Chateau des Egrons is set in the picturesque vineyards of South West France close to the Dordogne river, lovely villages towns and activities. The large decked and heated swimming pool has panoramic views. The new tennis court has an all weather surface.

The Chateau is tranquil and private within a two and a half acre garden surrounded by a clipped hedge. There is a beautiful courtyard at the front and terrace with views at the rear. Lots of outdoor seating and dining facilities front and rear.

The enormous kitchen and pantry are very well equipped and there is a kitchen table that seats over 12 people. There are 3 sitting rooms (formal and informal) a conservatory an dining hall and a TV room with satellite TV, DVD, video and HI Fi. All rooms are large with tiled floors and beamed ceilings and the furniture and ambiance are all in keeping.

A selections of local chefs are able to cook at the chateau if needed and excellent restaurants are within easy reach. The area if full of outstanding wine producers and places of interest

Holiday Accommodation at Chateau des Egrons

Chateau des Egrons is ideal for families or friends, sharing. The interior is spacious and charming with oak beams, terracotta tiles and antiques. The principal accommodation includes:

  • Kitchen - large (52ft x 35ft) with exposed stone walls, overlooks the courtyard and the north garden. Very well equipped; built-in oven, gas hob, dishwasher and three fridges and an excellent batterie-de-cuisine.
  • Laundry Room - with washing machine, iron and ironing board, clothes drying frame. There is a cot and a high chair.
  • Dining Hall Chinoise - grand room with a monumental open stone fireplace and an imposing Chinese antique dining table.
  • Formal Salon - in the newly renovated south west wing; charming room.
  • Inner Sitting Room - with a beautiful stone fireplace; TV, DVD, Hi Fi and video.
  • Garden Room - newly renovated casual sitting room connecting the kitchen with the terrace overlooking the garden and pool.
  • Conservatory - also leading onto the garden and pool; south facing.
  • Five Bedrooms - all the bedrooms are large and have tiled floors, high, beamed ceilings, large windows and fireplaces. Two have en suite bathrooms and one has an en suite WC and wash basin.
  • Separate family shower room - also with wash basin and WC.

About Villeneuve De Duras in Dordogne, Aquitaine

This scenic area is known for its famous wines, fruit and market gardens. There are lovely local villages and lots of restaurants.

It takes 1 hour 15 minute's to get to Bordeaux, whilst Bergerac and St. Emillion is 35 minute's away, Ste Foy-La-Grande is a 20 minute drive and the historic bastide village of Duras is 5 minutes by car.

An 'information book' is provided at the Chateau which lists all the places of interest in the area including hidden spots that most visitors miss. It also lists where to shop, the best restaurants, local walks, what the neighbours sell, where to buy the best duck, wine etc, also doctors, dentists and how the equipment works. The Chateau will be prepared for you; all you have to do is enjoy yourselves.

We had a fabulous holiday in your wonderful home-what a place to celebrate Rosie's 60th.!! Christiane cooked us a great meal and Carl prepared an excellent baebecue.

Our 4-year-old granddaughter actually managed to swim her first strokes in your beautiful pool. I would really like to go again next year if possible.

Just a quick note to let you know how much we enjoyed our holiday.  The chateau was wonderful - so well appointed and very comfortable it made the whole trip extremely relaxing.  We thoroughly enjoyed playing tennis, swimming and of course playing boules!
